The Corrupter is a boss in Stellar Blade whose appearance resembles a mutated horse and you must defeat it for the first time while on Eidos 7. On this page of our guide, we describe the confrontation against Corrupter in Memory Tower, which is a location visited after Hall of Records during Scavenger Adam story quest. You'll learn what attacks the boss has in its repertoire, and how to react to them correctly.
Location of the encounter (Eidos 7)
- The Corrupter appears suddenly sometime after visiting the Hall of Records on Eidos 7 and taking the Hypercell from it. It is one of the later objectives of the Scavenger Adam story mission.
- After returning to the elevator, you will find yourself back next to the Memory Tower monument. There is only one path leading forward - we show it in the screenshot.
If Eve received damage during battles against normal opponents, retreat to the camp in the building ruins to rest and replenish the supply of healing items.
- Make sure to do this, as soon after entering the new location, a cut-scene will play depicting the appearance of the Corrupter.
How to fight the Corrupter?
- The basic means of dealing damage against this boss will be melee attacks inflicted in close range. Use Parries to stop the enemy attacks. These are mainly strikes with the spiked head. The attacks are rather sluggish, which in turn makes Perfect Parrying them rather easy.
- Also wait for opportunities to launch Beta attacks to inflict more damage.
- Beware of the Corrupter's yellow attacks that begin with a release of toxins (one larger projectile or a rain of smaller ones hitting the entire arena). If the yellow attack is activated when Eve is in melee range of the boss, perform a quick dodge or jump away from the boss.
- Another yellow attack of the boss is a charge. It is performed more or less in a straight line, so you can avoid it easily by dodging to sides. After the boss tries to get up from a unsuccessful charge, approach him and attack his back.
- Watch out for dangerous blue attacks that include, among others, spikes ejecting from the boss's head.
- Use Blink at the right moment (analog stick up Circle) to teleport behind the boss. Use the advantageous position and launch attacks.
- After the boss loses almost all his health, all that is left to do is to finish him. Wait for the L1 button prompt to appear and complete a simple QTE to execute the enemy.
- Your rewards for defeating the boss are Weapon Core (can be installed at camp to increase melee damage) and Gear.
