One way of avoiding risky open combat in Stellar Blade is using stealth attacks. On this page of our guide, we show how to unlock Ambush skill, how to use it correctly, and what requirements need to be met for a stealth attack to be possible. We also inform how to unlock the Camouflage-Type Exospine and how it can help with stealth.

Purchase the Ambush and Chain Charge skills
- To be able to utilize stealth attacks, you first need to unlock Ambush, a skill from the Attack tree.
- The skill is available for unlocking already in the initial stages of exploring Eidos7. It doesn't have requirements in form of previous skills that have to be unlocked and costs 1 SP. You can also improve it later by purchasing additional skills from its branches on the development tree (e.g. recovery of Beta energy by activating the Ambush).
How to use a stealth attack?
- First of all, you need to get behind an enemy while avoiding detection - don't use sprint and watch for opponents that change their routes from time to time. When an opportunity is ripe, a button to use the Ambush will appear - press Triangle quickly before you're detected.
- If you were detected before you managed to get close, you can fight the opponent or quickly back away to make the enemy lose attention. The second option will allow you to repeat the attempt to sneak up to the enemy and Ambush him.
- A successfully executed Ambush will trigger an animation depicting a surprise attack on the monster. A stealth attack may eliminate an ordinary enemy right away, but one Ambush won't be enough to get rid of a boss or an elite monster.
- Chain Charge skill, which is on the same Attack tree, can work well with Ambush.
- After executing the first surprised enemy, Eve can immediately attack the nearby second enemy and knock them to the ground. Right after the execution animation, wait for the Triangle icon to reappear and quickly press this button.
Jumping onto opponents
- An option to eliminate enemies completely separate from Ambush involves jumping on monsters from higher areas. Attacked in this way, a standard enemy often dies instantly.
- You'll be able to check out this option right away when crossing one of the first bridges on Eidos 7. Once you stand above an enemy, a Triangle prompt may appear on the screen. Pressing the button will initiate an automatic attack involving landing on the opponent and executing him.
- The jump attack icon may also appear mid-flight e.g. after propelling yourself from a bar. Then you can land safely and eliminate an opponent with a single move.
Camouflage-Type Exospine
- By visiting the Solar Tower on the Wasteland map, you can find the Camouflage-Type Exospine on one of the upper balconies. This Expospine is associated with stealth.
- Its main features are limiting the field of vision of enemies (lower risk of detection), increasing attack power by 10 seconds after a successful stealth attack, and also regenerating 15% of maximum health at the moment of a stealth attack.
