Are there points of no return and an endgame phase in Stellar Blade? Our guide will try to answer both of these questions for you. Here we described key moments in the story that progressing past may cancel remaining uncompleted quests and block access to some of the game's regions. Additionally, you will find information on whether you can continue playing after finishing the story.
The page contains general spoilers regarding the fate of Xion from the further part of the campaign However, we do not reveal the fate of the characters, nor how the main plot of the game might end.
First point of no return
- In the main story, there are 2 points of no return. The first one appears after initiating Orcal's Testimony story quest. During this quest, the main heroes prepare to embark for Orbit Elevator.
- After returning to the landing pad in Xion, you can talk to Adam and bring up the topic of the journey to the elevator.
- This is when the point of no return warning will appear on the screen. After confirming your choice, you will leave Xion. Depending on the state of your relationship with Lily (improved by finding collectibles related to her) you'll start in Eidos 9 or directly in the Spire 4 location.
- Progressing through the first point of no return may lead to cancellation of unfinished side quests. This applies to all side quests - those initiated in Xion, connected to Xion, or received from Bulletin Board. After returning to Xion in the game's finale, these tasks will automatically be marked as failed (example in the screenshot).
- This is also the final opportunity to explore Xion freely, e.g. to search for collectibles or unique loot. In the final parts of the story, the game will allow you to speak to merchants and important NPCs from Xion one last time, but you won't be able to walk freely around the city.
Second point of no return
- The second point of no return will appear in the finale, during the course of Burning Xion story mission.
- You'll be back to the landing pad in Xion. The ensuing conversation with Lily is where you make the choice. Choosing Follow the bike signal and leave dialogue option equals embarking on to the final location of the game - the Nest.
- You can no longer pick up side quests in Xion, but this is also a final opportunity to explore all unlocked regions of the game (except Eidos 9 - you can't return there).
- We recommend taking the time to explore Wasteland and Great Desert carefully - these regions hide many secrets and some can only be accessed in the later stages of the game (e.g. after unlocking double jump).
Is there endgame?
Stellar Blade doesn't allow continuing a playthrough after completing the main story, i.e. after finishing the last story quest and defeating the final bosses. After completing the final task, the end credits will play and a message stating that NG+ mode has been unlocked will appear. After the end sequence, you'll be back to the main menu and three options are available:
- New Game +
- New Game +
- Load game - you can load the state from the final camp in The Nest (without the ability to return to Xion). You can play the final confrontation again and get a different ending to the adventure.
