Nation description - Scythian
Name | Effect |
People of the Steppe | Receive a second light cavalry unit or Saka horse archer each time you train said units. |
A very useful ability that will increase your army. Although limited to two specific units, allows to save a lot of production resources. Notice, that both units requires a strategic resource that is a horse. Fortunately, it is available in every scenario right from the start making this ability very useful but it makes your military success dependant on your initial placement on the map.
Name | Effect |
Killer of Cyrus | All units receive +5 combat strength bonus when they attack a wounded unit. When they eliminate a unit they receive 50 health points. |
Another ability that is very useful from military's point of view. It is worth to use range units to hurt your enemies and finish them with your stronger units. Five points to combat strength won't win you a fight but add penalties for wounded units and you will see that this ability is indeed very useful. Your units not only get a combat strength bonus when fighting wounded units, after the victory they get back half of their health points.
Summary
At a glance you can notice that Scythia is best suited to achieve domination. Remember to send your weaker units first to inflict small amount of damage to your enemies and then send your best troops. The ability to regenerate health points means that each trained or received unit can survive longer than others. Remember to not get surrounded and weaken your enemies before you finish them. This ability combines perfectly with an extensive defensive structure for cities because it will perpetually reduce enemies' health points which allows for successful defence from enemies' raids. If you play against Scynthia you can't be neutral towards it. But remember, that if you declare friendship, you can't break your vows because Tomyris will hunt you to the last tile of your empire. Duplicating units are available since Ancient Era but remember, that for your capital you must choose a place that will immediately allow you to train cavalry units.
