Bonuses
Housing bonus determined by tile's appeal. | Breathtaking: +6 Charming: +5 Average: +4 Uninviting: +3 Disgusting: +2 |
One of the districts that can be created last in a scenario. Its main task is to give additional housings and it should be noted that after discovering it in Industrial Era you can build it immediately because its cost is 60 production points. The most important factor that will have an influence on its usefulness is tile's appeal. As you can notice in the table above, the more appealing the tile, the more housings you can get. It is important because the number of housings is one of the factors that determine the rate of development of each city. At the beginning of a scenario you can raise the limit by using upgrades and later utilizing infrastructure elements in other districts. Neighborhood can be seen as some sort of conclusion to all of your actions in this area. It is worth to remember that if you won't secure enough housings then a city's development will slow down and finally stopping at 5 citizens above the limit. Carefully examine the terrain and choose such place that will allow you to get the most advantageous bonus. Notice that Neighborhood has no adjacent bonuses but it can be used to give that bonus to other districts.
Bonuses - Mbanza
Profits | +2 to food +4 to gold +5 to housing Housing bonus is given regardless of terrain's appeal. |
A unique Kongo's district. As you can easily notice, here, the rules for getting housings is completely changed and it doesn't rely on terrain's appeal. Each neighborhood gives 5 housings, one less than a regular version but this allows you to use the more appealing tiles for infrastructure that will get you closer to achieving a cultural victory. Also, Mbanza gives additional gold and food profit which is a compensation for maximal housing limit given by this district.
Remember, that Kongo's unique district is accessible much earlier, in Medieval Era. Additionally, you can built it as many times as you want which results in unrestrained development of each settlement.
