Where and how to acquire good disguises? Seven Game Guide

The ability to use disguises is one of the most useful gameplay mechanics in Seven: The Days Long Gone. The correct usage of disguises can make sneaking or reaching different locations that are heavily guarded much simpler. The easiest method of acquiring a disguise is by killing a specific enemy and searching his corpse. It is very important that Teriel has all five armour pieces on him - headgear, breastplate, gloves, pants and shoes (you can use any weapon, they do not have impact on the effectiveness of a disguise). You will be informed about the fact that you are wearing a disguise by an icon shown in the upper left corner of the screen - as shown in the picture above. In the further part of this text you will find advice on disguises which you should definitely seek to obtain in the beginning stages of the game.

Unfortunately, you cannot use the disguises you have obtained without any limitations. While using them, you must constantly keep a few important facts in mind. Otherwise, Teriel might be treated as an enemy and attacked.

1. While travelling in disguise, you can cause suspicion among other people, e.g. certain members of the same faction. This is symbolized by a circle at their feet (the circle fills as suspicion rises) - an example of such a situation is shown in the picture above. You must distance yourself from such characters before the circle will be completely filled, as it will result in you losing your disguise.
2. Using a disguise can block the ability to talk to certain traders or quests givers, who can also be suspicious of you and alert the nearby enemies to your presence, if you are not quick enough to distance yourself from them.
3. Your disguise may be removed automatically if someone sees you commit murder or performing any other illegal activity, e.g. stealing, breaking into somewhere or passing through a checkpoint without having the appropriate visa.
4. If the hero is revealed, then disguising yourself again will not be possible for some time, even if you lose the pursuing guards and distance yourself from the location of the alarm. It is a good idea to carry a second, "spare" disguise in your inventory (it can be ordinary armour or a set that allows you to use a completely different disguise) if, of course, the weight limit will allow you such a luxury.

Technomagi Soldier disguise

You can obtain this disguise, e.g. after passing checkpoint no. 3 on the way to the town of Mortbane, while performing the main storyline mission "Lost Contact". After leaving the base located by the checkpoint, you will encounter a single Soldier, who is shown in the picture above. You can surprise attack him and kill him. If the blow to the back will not kill him instantly, do not let him to get close to the base to alert his companions.

Putting the disguise on will make it easier for you to, e.g. hack into the transport network Overseer (unlocking the quick travel feature) or to infiltrate the Horizon Port which is located near the village of Lewmer. The mentioned guard also has a key to the room with the Overseer terminal and a tier 1 keycard.

Biomancer disguise

You can acquire this disguise during your stay in the city of Mortbane, which you visit while performing the main storyline mission "Lost Contact". Characters that represent different ranks of the biomancer force will wander around the city. The best method here is to attack the Biomancer Monk shown in the picture above, who is guarding the inactive elevator, which allows you to leave the town. Attack him from behind and only if there are no other enemies in sight. If the Monk does not die instantly, be sure to finish the job quickly with a flurry of melee attacks.

Putting on the biomancer disguise will allow you to enter several guarded locations within the city, which you must search for clues. Unfortunately, in the case of the most heavily defended locations, your cover can be blown even if you do not do anything to attract attention.

Blackwood Guard disguise

This outfit can help you a lot during your exploration of Blackwood Manor which is located in the west part of Warden's Hold. This manor is part of "Down the Rabbit Hole" main quest. You have to spend some time there. Also, you can go back to this place again during other quests which means that getting one of these outfits is very important.

The manor's main entrances are protected by laser barriers but you can get there by, e.g. jumping on one of the walls or going through the vent shafts and upper balconies of the adjacent buildings. Get inside the restricted area and start sneaking. Find a lone guard (example in the picture). Approach him from behind and eliminate (be sure that no one is going to that place or is looking in your direction).

Excavation Worker disguise

This outfit can be obtained after reaching zone 7. You don't need a Visa Pill to enter the excavation site. Instead, you will need this outfit. A more obvious way to get it is to buy the outfit from the clothes shop presented in the picture above - you can find it near the west exit to the excavation site. It costs 600 auryte. Another solution is to sneak into the excavation site and murder one of the workers. This is a risky thing to do because Technomagi soldiers can attack Teriel when you are in their view.

Equip the outfit and notice that laser barriers that lead to excavation site are now inactive. You can visit this place on your own or because you have to complete some quests (e.g. "A Monolithic Mission").
