How to escape Mortbane? Seven Game Guide

Mortbane is a city on the isle of Peh, which you will visit during the first hours of the game - the main storyline quest named "Lost Contact" is connected to this location. After you have concluded all of your business in Mortbane, you may find it difficult to leave the town in order to continue the main storyline, or to simply be able to visit other locations on the island. Below, you will find tips on how you can leave Mortbane.
Using the lift
Using the lift is a very obvious way of solving the problem of leaving Mortbane, however, there are two major complications connected to this path of action. Firstly, the lift is by default guarded by a biomancer monk. If your character does not possess weapons of sufficient quality yet, then you can use the fact that the enemy constantly travels between several points on the map in order to sneak past him. If, in turn, you have good weapons and armour pieces at your disposal, then you can look for a chance to perform a surprise attack on the monk, while he has his back exposed to you (make sure that there are no other enemies in the vicinity before committing to a surprise attack). If this attack will not instantly kill the biomancer, then start quickly landing other strikes in order to finish him off.
The second complication is the fact that the lift is inactive by default. In order to get it working again, you must reach the neighbouring generator, which is located behind a high fence. If you have already killed the monk that has been guarding this location, then you can simply use a pick or the drill in order to open the door. Otherwise, head to the back of the fenced off area. In the location shown in the picture you can climb the crates and reach the generator. Examine it in detection mode and interact with it.
In both cases, after you reactivate the lift, you must reach it and press a button. It will transport the hero back to the top, to the vicinity of the path that leads to checkpoint no. 3.
Reaching the Lewmer cliffs
Passing through the Lewmer cliffs is a less obvious method of solving the issue of leaving Mortbane. Choosing this variant will not force you to confront a powerful biomancer, but your hero will have to deal with a lot of climbing, and additionally you will have to be wary of the infected, who reside in the quarantine zone.
Explore the southern part of Mortbane and take note of the ladder shown in the picture above.
You must climb onto consecutive ledges, in order to reach the large building in the quarantine zone. Once you reach this location, use the control panel shown in the picture above (it can be found in a long corridor) and complete the hacking mini-game. This will open the doors to the main part of the building. If you have not visited this place before, then watch out for numerous infected, who can all of a sudden appear near Teriel. Continue moving south and avoid the soldiers who guard the area (they can attack the hero if you have not obtained permission to visit the excavation site as part of the side quest "Valuable experience"). Additionally, this route will allow you to return to the settlement of Lewmer.
