New World: Smelting - refining New World guide, tips

Smelting in New World is one of the most important resource refining professions. This skill will get you access to bars of iron, silver or orichalcum - materials often used for crafting. This page of the guide explains where to create ingots and how to develop Smelting quickly.
Crafting station and crafted items
To craft objects in the Smelting category you need a Smelter. The skill will allow you to create iron, steel, silver or orichalcum ingots - and as a result produce better weapons and heavy armor. The Smelting resources are mainly obtained through Mining.
Fast leveling of Smelting
To level up Smelting in New World you will need two skills - Mining, but also Harvesting to collect wood. Of course, the materials required to level the skill up can be bought from other players, but this would force you to spend a lot of gold.
Level 0 - 50:
It's best to start the process of levelling up by making 782 Charcoal. You're gonna need 1564 pieces of Green Wood.
Level 50 - 100:
The next step in levelling Smelting up is to create 504 Gold Ingots. This translates into the following materials:
- 2520 x Gold Ore
- 1008 x Silver Ingot
- 504 x Sand Flux
Level 100 - 150:
Then create 713 Platinum Ingots. You're gonna need:
- 4278 x Platinum Ore
- 1426 x Gold Ingot
- 713 x Sand Flux
Level 150 - 200:
The final step to level up Smelting in New World is to create 5885 Platinum Ingots. The materials are the same as in the previous step, but of course you need more of them:
- 35310 x Gold Ore
- 11770 x Silver Ingot
- 5885 x Sand Flux
