Last update: 07 October 2021
Azoth in New World is used for fast travel. It's also used during crafting to bestow perks (special, passive bonuses) onto the created items. Azoth is also necessary to reset skill trees. On this page of the guide you'll learn how to quickly earn Azoth.
Completing main missions
You're rewarded with Azoth for completing main missions. Many of them award you not only with gold, experience or gear, but also with Azoth. It's the basic method of obtaining Azoth you'll be using while playing through the storyline of New World.
Azoth Extraction Perk
Azoth can also be obtained while gaining resources. This applies to all available resources - ores, plants or animal hides. To obtain it, you need an Azoth Extraction perk. You can get it when crafting tools of Class 2 at least. The default chance of a tool being crafted with a perk is quite low, but it increases significantly if you use some Azoth while crafting. The perk that's added to the tool is random, so it's likely you'll need to craft the same tool a few times before getting Azoth Extraction on one.
Killing enemies
Another way of getting Azoth in New World is killing opponents. This applies to enemies starting from level 20. Each enemy will have a chance to drop some Azoth.
Destroying contaminated areas
You can also earn Azoth in New World by destroying contaminated areas. It's not difficult to find them - contaminated areas are marked with red icons on the map.
However, this method is intended for more developed characters, and destroying contaminated areas often requires several players who work together. This is due to the presence of very strong enemies in these areas.
