How to defeat the Remnant Architect on Elaaden? | Boss fights | Walkthrough Mass Effect: Andromeda Guide
Last update: 01 June 2017
The Remnant Architect on planet Elaaden is one of the most powerful enemies in Mass Effect: Andromeda. You can duel this gigantic robot after completing the quest connected to establishing an Andromeda Initiative outpost on Elaaden - Settling Elaaden. This is when you can start the Architect on Elaaden side quest. More detailed information can be found in the game's walkthrough.
Before you attack the Architect, it's a good idea to make these preparations:
- Save the game and try to remember the layout of the supply crates. You can come back to them during combat (if it's not too risky).
- If you play on normal (or lower) difficulty level, you don't have to bother with party selection. Otherwise, take companions that specialize in Combat and Tech.
- The best weapons to attack the Architect with are the long-range ones. Direct attacks would be difficult given the bot's size. Moreover, the Architect can protect itself from them. Consider using an assault or sniper rifle. Also, try to equip incendiary ammunition, which can deal much more damage to the boss, as well as sticky grenades and throw them at the boss' weak spots.
As you fight the Architect, try to stay out of open spaces at any cost. There is a myriad of obstacles to be found around, and you can take cover behind them. However, DON'T TRY to win the battle against the gigantic bot by staying in cover at all times since some of its attacks can hurt you even when covered. These include throwing a bunch of grenades and sending a kind of an energy wave. Luckily, both attacks are signaled by the boss so you should have enough time to run (just move to a different place) if you are careful. If your character can camouflage, you can rely on it instead of cover, or simply complement the tactic of using cover with it.
In combat, you can issue orders to your companions. If you decide to do it, target the limbs or the head of the Architect. If a squad mate falls in battle, try to revive them but do so between the Architect's attacks in order not to lose all energy points while "reviving" a fallen companion.
By default, the weak spots on the Architect's "body" are the wires on its three legs. Focus on attacking them and try to make your shots precise in order not to waste ammo and other supplies.
Once you've damaged the Architect's limbs enough, you'll be able to attack the wires by its head. In this case, focus even more on using your best weapons and skills because destroying these wires ends the battle.
Your efforts against the Architect are hindered in two ways. First: the boss summons lesser Remnant bots (their most powerful forms are Nullifiers - flank them or destroy their shields with adequate attacks). In such cases, you have to stop attacking the Architect and get rid of its helpers.
Attention - While attacking the "ordinary" Remnants, keep avoiding the Architect's attacks since it may use its most powerful skills!
The second hindrance is the fact that the Architect moves back when you destroy one of its limbs. You don't have to use the Nomad in such cases. Go on foot after the Architect and wait until it "assumes a position" in the new spot to continue the battle.
As mentioned before, in order to win the battle against the Architect, you have to deprive its head of all energy points. When the enemy crashes down to the ground, run up to its head and interact with it to establish a connection. This action ends the battle.
