The Journey to Meridian | Priority Ops | Walkthrough Mass Effect: Andromeda Guide
Last update: 28 April 2017
This section contains a walkthrough for The Journey to Meridian, one of the Priority Ops (Story quests) found in Mass Effect Andromeda. The quest involves accessing the titular Remnant outpost in order to retrieve the data that is vital in the research on Scourge. The mission area is vast, and exploring it may take extended amounts of time, while the team will be subjected to a number of challenges, including puzzles or staving off both the kett and the Remnant. You'll also be forced to stand against the Archon's Sword, an elite kett soldier supported by numerous reinforcements.

Hatching a plan
Speak to the leaders on the Nexus
Travel to the Nexus and make your way to the Superintendent Tann's office to take part in an emergency meeting joined by other Pathfinders. The outcome of the meet is always the same, but its course may differ following certain decisions made during previous quests. The Pathfinders, who you've had the opportunity to choose during your search for missing arks will appear in the office and offer their support to the main hero (the quests that involve the search for the arks are listed in the Missing Arks section of the guide).
The meeting will be interrupted with a message from the Nexus Cryo Bay. Your twin brother/sister has reawakened from his coma. Your meeting with him will be affected by previous events, including whether you've visited him earlier or had lied following certain events that involved Andromeda Initiative and Alec Ryder.
Talk through your options with other Pathfinders
Use the rail to travel to the Docking Area. The other Pathfinders can be found in the laboratory located one floor above the common area. The meet (a cut-scene) will serve as an opportunity to create a plan of approach.
Journey to Meridian
Integrate the Ghost Storm technology with the Tempest to help other Pathfinders
Note - You can safely proceed with the on the mission, as the quest still leaves you with a window of opportunity to complete the remaining side quests.
Return to the Tempest. Integrating the new device is rather easy, as all you have to do is to interact with the indicated console on the central deck of the ship.
Gather the crew in the Tempest's meeting room to prepare for the mission
Proceed to the upper deck and use the vidcon. This will lead to a briefing for the Tempest crew that which will detail the infiltration of Meridian.
Travel to Khi Tasira in the Civki system
Open the galaxy map. You'll be left with a new star system located on the western edge of Heleus Cluster - Civki. Once you've entered the system, approach Khi Tasira, a space station which seems to be the sought Meridian. Once you've began to orbit around the station, use your scanner to locate the drop zone.
Note - You'll be limited to the mission area until you've managed to complete the assignment.
Survey the drop zone
Begin by investigating the right side of the drop zone. You'll encounter the first Remnant console - use it to unlock a pathway to the door seen in the distance. A wide corridor inside the building leads to another console. This terminal unlocks the gravity well which enables us to reach the upper level of the station.
Activating both towers
Note - Your objective is to activate two towers located in different areas of the map. You can access them in any order, as this will not affect the final showdown or the whole quest.
You can either head straight to the mission objectives or investigate the area thoroughfully. The second option takes much more time, but you'll be able to find containers, objects to scan, or unique flora specimens.
Access the tower in the exploration sector
The exploration tower is located in the northern part of the Meridian. The party will have its hands full once you leave the elevator - you'll be facing kett, as well as the Remnant. Nevertheless, most of the time both groups will be busy fighting against themselves. Use the opportunity to either take your time and wait until the enemy ranks are thinned enough, or simply enter the battle and eliminate up the confused opponents.
Once you've reached the junction, proceed north. From that moment, avoid getting in contact with the Scourge or electrified substance that you had the opportunity to encounter while exploring previous Remnant sites. The enemy will appear right away - during this encounter, make your way to a Remnant console to spawn an allied bot which will help the party in disposing of the opponent.
Activate the tower in the exploration sector
Proceed through the next large hall. Keep away from the Scourge and make your way to the northern door while fighting against the incoming Remnant. Unfortunately, the other part of the hall is guarded by a turret. You can either destroy it using distance attacks or attempt to rush to the door, as the turret has a limited field of vision (cannot perform a full 360 degree turn)
Use the console to unlock the door and proceed north. You'll find yourself in a large hall. For now, you are safe from any attacks, so take a look around the area and reach the northern part of the room.
Reroute power to the main console
Take a look at the installation with the obelisk in the middle, as you'll need to activate the consoles in correct order to reroute the power to the obelisk. You can look up the whole layout on the object found in the northern part of the room (screenshot) or simply follow the scheme shown on to the screenshot - begin with 1 and conclude with the console marked with 4.
Note - If you'll follow an invalid pattern, the hall will be visited by one or a few Remnant bots, while you'll need to repeat the whole sequence again.
Make your way to the main console to begin a cut-scene depicting the interaction. The moment will be interrupted by a serious counter-attack, led by an enemy Destroyer. Use covers and begin the encounter by eliminating the powerful enemy. Remember to destroy his shields beforehand, and then start firing at his weak spots, such as the side cannons.
Access the tower in the research sector
Double back using the same route, but be ready for an Remnant attack once you return to the large hall guarded by a turret. In this case, you can hack the turret and use it to fight off the enemy.
Make your way south and skip the junction found not far from the entry point, as the second tower is in a straight line from the first one. You should reach a console overlooking a pit filled with electrified liquid. Interact with the console to create a bridge and use it to get across.
Continue your journey south. Beware, as one of the halls ahead contains a surprise. Once you've entered a spacious room, you'll be ambushed by a group of enemies, including a powerful Behemoth. Keep your distance, avoid his charges, and use your armor-piercing abilities to destroy his armor.
Along the way, you'll have to unlock another pathway and get past a control room. Take a look around the area, as you'll have to revisit it in the further part of the task. The party will be facing a new group of Remnant ahead - you can attempt to hack the nearby turret to have an upper hand during combat.
Activate the tower in the research sector
You'll enter a new hall which will be a background to another major battle. Consider visiting the consoles found on the first floor to activate a turret or deploy shields. Aside from "standard" Remnant, you'll encounter another Behemoth. Stay away from the central part of the room, which is filled with the electrified liquid.
Once you've emerged victorious, use the console to unlock the southern door. Enter the archive and use the dedicated interface to begin a cut-scene.
Reach the command hub
Enter the Meridian's command hub
Make your way north and be ready to fight against a new group of kett, led by an Ascendant. As always, begin by destroying the orb which generates his shield. Once the shield is down, concentrate your fire at the Ascendent in order to eliminate or severely weaken him before he manages to surround himself with a new sphere and regains his defenses.
Your approach to the command hub is interrupted by a group of kett heading in the same direction. You don't need to get ahead of them at all costs, as they will take defensive positions in an attempt to stop you. The group will be joined by a Fiend - defeat him in the first place.
Make your way east and take care of the kett found along the way. Soon, you'll be facing another group of Remnant and a Destroyer. As always, stay in cover and take care of its shields and destroy it by firing at its side cannons. Once you've cleared the area, you'll encounter a new gravity well - use it.
Interact with the command hub
The gravity well will take you to a new floor. Proceed west and approach the high ground in the center of the room. Interact with the main console to begin a few cut-scenes and prepare for a boss encounter.
Archon's Sword (Boss encounter)
Defeat the Archon's Sword and the kett forces
Archon's Sword is a more powerful version of Anointed. This means that the enemy can disperse a blue cloud that enables him to cloak himself and other kett found in the area. Try to concentrate your fire on the Sword in order to stop him from applying the cloak. If the enemy managed to camouflage himself, try to "survey" the area using grenades and area of effect abilities in order to locate the troublesome opponent. You can also guard your initial position by planting mines and other traps on the walkways.
The fight won't be that easy, as once you manage to take care of the shield and a portion of his health points, the Sword will disappear for a moment (which is unpreventable) and send additional kett to engage the party. Each time your opponent disappears, focus on his helpers and eliminate as much of them as you can (focus on those closest to you in order to take care of them before they'll manage to utilize the cloak).
This scheme will repeat itself a number of times, with the final wave being led by a powerful Fiend. Stay mobile and retreat if you've took too much hits or in need of ammo. Continue engaging the enemy forces until you've managed to defeat the remaining enemy. Finally, Archon's Sword won't have nowhere to run, and will die once you've managed to eliminate him.
The mission will be concluded with two cut-scenes: a wrap-up to the whole operation, while the second one will depict a vidcon conversation with Superintendent Tann. You'll be left with a new Priority Op - Meridian: The Way Home.
Rewards: Experience Points (XP), Andromeda Viability Points, new Priority Op: Meridian: The Way Home, a trophy - Activation.
