How to unlock: Speak with Dr. Nakamoto [Kadara: Slums].

Here you can find the guide for Modern Medicine quest. It is one of the Heleus Assignments (side quests) in Mass Effect: Andromeda game. This quest can be unlocked during your exploration of Slums on Kadara. In this quest you must found the recipe necessary to produce "Oblivion" drug.

Unlocking the quest

Nakamoto is in one of the containers in slums

This quest can be unlocked during your stay in Slums on Kadara. There, you can find the container where Dr. Nakamoto is. Speak with him. You are asked to find the recipe required to produce a medicine.

Go to Dr. Nakamoto's old lab

The lab is near one the monoliths

Dr. Nakamoto's lab is close, north from the slums exit. In order to get there you must use Nomad and drive counterclockwise (first go east, then north and finally turn west).

Defeat the Outcasts

A group of Outcasts stations near the old lab, you must defeat them. Among others you must watch out for the sniper of the roof and reinforcements that will arrive shortly after the start of the battle.

Take the recipe

The moment of making the decision

After the fights go to the lab where you will find Dr. Farenth. After hearing her version of events you can act in two ways - take the recipe or believe her and let her keep it.

Warning - Checking one of the datapads is an optional step. From it you can learn that Farenth lied to you.

Return to Dr. Nakamoto

Return to Slums and meet with Dr. Nakamoto. Depending on whether you took the recipe or left it, you will hear a different conversation. In both cases you receive the same reward.
