Creating equipment | Equipment Mass Effect: Andromeda Guide
Last update: 10 April 2017
In the previous chapter ("Acquiring and developing blueprints") you can find information about what blueprints are and how you can get them. In this chapter you can learn about creating items by using previously unlocked blueprints.
When you get a blueprint for an item that you want you must also get the required amount of materials that are necessary to create that item. You can get materials by:
- Sending Strike Teams - when a team completes a mission they return with a chest that contains some materials.
- Killing enemies and searching their bodies - sometimes you can get a weapon that can be dismantled and at other times you can get materials.
- Opening containers scattered throughout the game world. In most of containers you can find crafting materials. Additionally, with the help of Reconnaissance cryo pod you can reveal containers hidden on the world map that contains rare items - weapons and valuable crafting materials.
- Dismantling weapons and armor parts - more information can be found in the next chapter.
This topic is discussed further in How to get crafting materials in Mass Effect: Andromeda? chapter.
When you have a blueprint and all necessary materials you must go to Research Center. You can find them, for example, on Tempest - there are a few places where you can come across them but the easiest way is to go to the one on Tempest. When you are in the Research Center screen select Development option.
Here, you can choose tabs that allow you to create armor parts, weapons and Nomad upgrades. On the left you have the list of available items, in the center you can see how the currently selected item looks, what materials are required and how many Augment slots it has, on the right you can see item's description and stats.
Now you only have to choose an item that you want to create, add (by using the button on the bottom of the screen) augments (one or more - you can read about augments in the next chapter) and create that item. You can equip items when you are in the equipment screen which is available, for example, when you are leaving Tempest.
