Hitman 3: is it an always-online game?

No, Hitman 3 does not require a permanent internet connection. It is also possible to play it offline or without connecting to the game's servers.

Playing online mode is definitely recommended – this is the only way to use some important features of the game. You will be able to:

  1. Complete challenges.
  2. Earn experience points and level up mastery.
  3. Receive rewards after reaching new mastery levels.

Hitman 3: Ray tracing - is it supported?

Hitman 3 will not support ray tracing technology on the day of its premiere, i.e. January 20, 2021. Ray tracing support will be added for free after the game's release, along with one of its post-release updates.

Hitman 3: VR goggles - are they supported?

Yes, Hitman 3, for the first time in the history of the series, offers support for VR technology. You can play it using virtual reality goggles. Hitman 3 only supports PSVR goggles, meaning VR is only available on PS4 and PS5. The game does not work with any PC VR goggles such as Oculus Rift or HTC Vive.

You can complete the entire game playing in VR mode, including the stages known from the first two parts of the series. VR mode will be available in Hitman 3 on its release, i.e. January 20, 2021.

Additional note - Since the PS5 does not offer full support for PSVR goggles (as of January 2021), you need to play on a PlayStation 4 and run Hitman 3 in VR in backward compatibility mode.

Hitman 3: Installing locations from Hitman 1 and Hitman 2

Hitman 3 allows you to install maps known from previous parts of the series, i.e. Hitman 1 (from 2016) and Hitman 2. You will be able to play the maps from the entire trilogy in a single game.

The authors promised to reduce the size of the pack that includes all stages of the three parts of the Hitman series. The locations from previous games should increase the disk size of Hitman 3 to about 100GB. This is a big improvement – Hitman 2 with Hitman 1 maps required more space. In this case, you will need about 100GB for the maps from three games.

Hitman 3: New technologies and graphical improvements

Hitman 3 offers some improvements and new graphics options that were not present in the previous two parts of the series.

  1. Ray tracing (more details in one of the previous subsections).
  2. Support for VR technologies (more details in one of the previous subsections).
  3. Up to 300 active NPCs on the screen - This improvement allows the game to generate realistic crowds. Agent 47 can move in a crowd and use it to hide from enemies.
  4. Improved artificial intelligence - Opponents and civilians should react more realistically to the main character's actions.
  5. Support for SSR technology (Screen Space Reflections). It allows the game to generate reflections in the screen space.
  6. Improved graphics for maps from Hitman and Hitman 2. This applies only to Hitman 3. The changes aren't available to people who only own Hitman 1 and/or Hitman 2.
