On this page of our guide you'll find information regarding the difficulty levels in Far Cry 6. You'll learn about the difficulty levels available, the differences between them and whether or not they can be changed during the game.
Story Mode
This mode can be considered the normal difficulty. Enemies don't deal much damage, get bored quickly and don't follow you across half the map. Your health also quickly regenerates, meaning death is much less likely.
This option should work for players who want to explore the map or focus on the story.
Action Mode
Action Mode can be considered the hard difficulty. The enemies are much stronger while your health regenerates very slowly. When playing the Action Mode it's important to plan ahead and take care of your resources. Stealth and eliminating enemies quietly is also incredibly useful.
Keep in mind that combat is a huge part of Far Cry 6, and Action Mode makes encounters much longer and more challenging.
Changing difficulty in-game
Difficulty can be changed at any time. You need to enter the settings menu, then choose the gameplay tab and select the appropriate difficulty.
Achievements regarding difficulty levels
It is worth noting that there aren't any achievements tied to difficulty levels. You can beat the game however you want. All achievements are obtainable no matter whether you're playing the Story Mode or the Action Mode. We've described all the trophies available on a separate page of our guide.
