Assassins Creed Shadows: All Kofuns, Tombs

Visiting tombs is one of the more rewarding optional activities in Assassin's Creed Shadows. On this guide page, you will find instructions on where to look for kofuns and which of the main protagonists can explore them. This will allow you to find all 10 secret tombs hidden on the map of Japan, as well as reach their legendary chests.

All tombs

1. There are 10 different kofuns hidden on the world map. On the outside, they often resemble mounds. Every tomb has 1 entrance leading to a vast underground location.
2. A kofun may be available exclusively for Naoe or exclusively for Yasuke. While playing as Naoe, you must use the anchor, detonate red jars (e.g. with shurikens) and squeeze through narrow openings. As Yasuke, you need to move and detonate red jars and move large obstacles. On the way, it is also worth using light sources - it will reduce the risk of getting lost and help in recognizing rooms that have already been visited.
3. At the end of each tomb, a legendary chest awaits, containing legendary gear and minor loot. Some kofuns may also be associated with quests and contain additional treasures or rooms. We have compiled all of this below.

#1 Veiled Tumulus

1. This kofun is available exclusively for Naoe. The tomb is in Wakasa province.
2. The entrance to the tomb is east of Obama. In the vicinity, there are, e.g. Sanjoga Take Overlook and Kumaraga Kakurega. The legendary chest contains a legendary kusarigama for Naoe.

#2 Azuchi Hyotanyama Kofun

1. This kofun is available exclusively for Yasuke. The tomb is in Omi province.
2. The entrance to the tomb is in the wilderness east of Azuchi Castle - in the southeastern part of the region. In the legendary chest, you will get a legendary weapon for Yasuke.

#3 Chasuriyama Kofun

1. This kofun is available exclusively for Naoe. The tomb is in Tamba province.
2. The entrance to the tomb is west of the Fukuchiyama village in the western part of the region. In the legendary chest, you will find a legendary tanto for Naoe.

1. You can also visit this kofun in one of the side quests for Yagoro - one of the potential allies of the main characters. The young man will come across a crypt, in which he will find a hidden blade for himself.

#4 Ancient Tomb of Nanjo

1. This kofun is available exclusively for Naoe. The tomb is in Yamashiro province.
2. The entrance to the tomb is west of the southern part of the city of Kyoto. In the area, there is also a viewpoint called Forsaken Pagoda. In the legendary chest, you will find a legendary katana for Naoe.

#5 Takagi Kofun

1. This kofun is available exclusively for Yasuke. The tomb is in Harima province.
2. The entrance to the tomb is in the Takagi Outsuka fort and the nearest viewpoint is Mount Haba to the northeast of the fort. In the legendary chest, you will find a legendary teppo for Yasuke.

#6 Makino Kurumazuka Kofun

1. This kofun is available exclusively for Yasuke. The tomb is in Izumi Settsu province.
2. The entrance to the tomb is east of Takatsuki city, in the northern part of the region. In the legendary chest, you will find a legendary bow for Yasuke.

#7 Old Kofun

1. This kofun is available exclusively for Naoe. The tomb is in Izumi Settsu province.
2. The entrance to the tomb is east of Sakai town in the southern part of the region. In the legendary chest, you will find a legendary trinket for Naoe.

1. This kofun also has a secret location, the Tomb of the Ancients. It is not available during standard exploration. You need to advance in Naoe's personal quests and eventually she will visit the kofun with the intention of using the hidden blade to open the tomb. Inside, you will find, e.g. a white Assassin Gear on the rack.

#8 Megalithic Vault

1. This kofun is available exclusively for Yasuke. The tomb is in Yamato province.
2. The entrance to the tomb is at the northern end of the region, north of the Koriyama Forest viewpoint. In the legendary chest, you will find a legendary armor for Yasuke.

#9 Ishibutai Kofun

1. This kofun is available exclusively for Naoe. The tomb is in Yamato province.
2. The entrance to the tomb is south of the Takatori Tenshu viewpoint - it's the central part of the region. In the legendary chest, you will find a legendary trinket for Naoe.

#10 Shimosato Kofun

1. This kofun is available exclusively for Yasuke. The tomb is in Kii province.
2. The entrance to the tomb is in the southeast part of the province, next to the road running along the coastline. Mount Takayama is northwest of this place. In the legendary chest, you will get a legendary weapon for Yasuke.
