AC Shadows is not the greatest technological achievement in gaming history. Although it is still far from becoming such a spectacular disaster as Stalker 2, for example. Players struggle with many different problems like crashes, DX12 error or missing DLSS. If you manage to start the game, though, what can be particularly annoying is the flickering screen. Unfortunately, this bug haunts some people. So, if you are one of them, can you fix this problem?

How to fix flickering in AC Shadows

AC Shadows players complain about not the game-breaking but definitely an annoying bug. For some, the screen is flickering, which is mostly visible during cutscenes. Some people think that this is caused by G-Sync. However, there is no certainty that this is true.

Right now, you can try two potential solutions to this problem. Maybe one of them will help you.

  1. When the screen starts flickering, you can simply restart the game. A simple solution that can often help with the most complicated problems. It also has a few applications in AC Shadows. While it can fix your screen, you can use it to deal with missing audio, too.
  2. The second solution is to set the game to windowed mode. You can do this in the game settings. All you have to do is go to the “video” and in “display” tab find the correct option.

If this doesn't help, then you have to wait for Ubisoft to fix this problem. Hopefully, the patch with the solution will be released sooner rather than later.
