Assasins Creed Shadows: How do scouts work?

What are scouts used for?

You can use scouts to gather materials and information about mission targets. With their help, in AC Shadows you will be able to gather much more resources such as wood from various places. After improving your hideout, they will also be able to acquire all kinds of equipment and larger amounts of resources with each change of season.

Moreover, if you have turned off the guided exploration mode for better immersion, or simply want to get all the trophies (having the mode on will result in the inability to get some achievements), their task will be to find the main and additional mission objectives.

How to search for targets using scouts?

When you start tracking any mission, check what hints you have for it. For example, if the mission states that the target may be located in the western part of Osaka, then move your cursor to the western part of this city. Then use your scouts and order them to search this area. You should then discover new markers on the map.

How to replenish scouts?

Scouts should be treated as a resource that can be depleted. When you use all the scouts, you will have to replenish them. You can do it in your hideout. Find the icon of the masked figure on your compass and approach it. There you will notice that by interacting with bags of different colors, you will be able to replenish scouts for the appropriate price (initially it is 200 Mon).

You can also change the season to not only replenish them to the maximum value for free, but also to gain other benefits depending on the level of your hideout. To do this, open the map and click the appropriate button responsible for changing the season. However, remember that this option will only be available again after some time, so do not abuse it. How to increase the number of scouts?

At the very beginning, you will have two scouts, so it's very easy to deplete them, unless you spend Mon to replenish them. Therefore, it is worth considering increasing their quantity.

To do this, you will need to go to the hideout, use the hideout upgrade option, and then build and keep upgrading a building called the Study. This building increases the number of available scouts.
