AC Shadows: How to unlock Yasuke?
Yasuke is one of the two main characters in AC Shadows. However, he is not available from the very beginning of the game. On this guide page, we have described how and when you can unlock Yasuke as a playable hero.

Assassin's Creed Shadows features two main characters - shinobi Naoe and samurai Yasuke. After the prologue, however, you will spend a lot of time playing only as Naoe, while Yasuke will be unavailable. On this guide page, we described how and when you can unlock Yasuke as a playable character.

How to play as Yasuke?
You will spend the entire first act of the game playing as the shinobi Naoe. Samurai Yasuke is unlocked later in the storyline, at the end of the first act. Reaching that point can take from eight to twelve hours. Unlocking Yasuke is part of the main storyline so it cannot be missed.
Before you unlock Yasuke, you will have to eliminate three members of the Shinbakufu, also known as Onryo. Two are waiting in the Izumi Settsu region, and the last one is in Yamashiro. They are:
- The Wounded,
- The Golden Teppo,
- The Horseman.

After completing the last task of the Horseman's thread, the Temple of the Horseman, you have to complete several linear missions as Yasuke. After that, the samurai will become a playable character. The rest of the game world will also open up - from now on you will have much more freedom and you will be able to switch between characters at any time.
