PC players these days don't have it easy. Many, if not most, of the recent titles (like Stalker 2 for example) are technical disasters. Even ports from the other platforms have some problems – Rise of the Ronin is the perfect example of such a situation. Unfortunately, Assassin's Creed: Shadows isn’t an exception. As you might have read in our previous guides, the latest Ubisoft title struggles with DX12 error and missing DLSS. However, that’s not all. Many players on PC and consoles also report an audio bug. So, let’s talk about this issue and how you can deal with it.

No Audio in AC Shadows? Quick fix to sound problems

A very specific bug exists in AC Shadows right now (interestingly not only on PC). After some time, the game is losing most of the audio and you are only left with some voices and sound effects. As you might expect, this effectively ruins gameplay experience and makes title almost unplayable.

The bad news is that there is no non-irritating solution to this problem right now. When you lose audio, all you can do is to restart AC Shadows (in the case of Xbox Series X/S, you have to completely shut down the game, don’t use Quick Resume). So, in the worst scenario, you must repeat this process several times during one evening with the title. This is definitely not the most convenient way to solve problems but if you want to keep playing, you have no other option.

If this is too much for you, you must wait for a patch from Ubisoft, which will fix this problem. When will it appear? At this point it is hard to say, but it can be assumed that it will be made available fairly soon. So, you must be patient.
