Chapter 17 information

Elena will want to have a chat with you every now and then

In this chapter, Nate and his wife will want to free Sam. This chapter is a long one. It includes lots of fighting and climbing. There is much to do here. You can, for example, collect six treasures, two journal entries, two journal notes and you can have six optional conversations.

The way to the elevator

Nathan and Elena have to get to the lift

After you regain control of Nate, follow Elena. You will come across a big flag. Give the woman a boost up, onto the ladder and join her. After a while, Elena will want to have the first optional conversation with you. Do not follow her straight away, turn back and collect the first treasure (Mughal Flared Vase). You can now continue deeper into the isle. After a while, Elena will want to have another talk. Soon, you will reach an ancient lift.

Position the crate in such a way, as to reach the ledge

Follow Elena. She will show you the path over which to climb. Jump down into the water and help her up the ladder at the back of the stone slope. Elena will throw down a crate for you to use. Use the rope to move it, thanks to which you can reach the stone ledge shown in the screenshot. Try to join the woman. Unfortunately, you will be separated by the collapsing bridge and you will start to fall down. Use grappling hook to get out of this predicament and to get to the wooden lift. Climb up over it and jump onto the rocks on the left.

The way to the jeep

Near the collapsed bridge, there is a treasure

After a while, you come across a group of opponents. Kill them, or wait for Elena to help you. After the fight, you can have two optional conversations with the woman. From the wooden lift, go straight ahead and jump down to find another treasure (Mughal Hinged Box). Return to the lift and jump onto the elevation on the left. Jump towards the ledge in front of you.

After the long fight, you will finally be able to control the jeep

From there, jump onto the big hill on the right. Go straight ahead and you will run into a big team of enemies. Try to eliminate some of them silently, because the fight can be demanding. After the fight, get into the jeep and drive down the stream. Then, drive out to the road. Head towards the waterfall. After you reach it, turn left, towards the angel statue and follow the road up the river.

Activate the lift

Add the entry about the water mill to your journal

Finally, you will make it to a large watermill. Drive up and add the journal note. Then, go to the ledge and use the grappling hook while in the car to destroy the supporting beam. This will reveal the path ahead. Climb up the building. On the balcony, there is a treasure(Jade Serving Bowl). Move the crate in the next room and climb up, until you reach the watermill that Elena stops. Jump onto it and walk over the beam to the other side. Activate the lift and jump onto it quickly.

The fight on the top of the lift is very demanding

You will be attacked and this is one of the most difficult fights in the game. The enemies are plentiful and they will come from all over. You can jump between the nearby elevations and replenish your ammo on a regular basis. At some point, the lift stops. Jump onto the platform across and use grappling hook to reach the area of the fight. As soon as you get there, Elena will drive the jeep over the opponents and you will regain control of the car. Leave the car and go to get the treasure (Ancient Stone Bowl) next to the escarpment.

The road to New Devon

The turning wheel on the right opens the way

Next to the escarpment, close to the jeep, there is another treasure (Ancient Stone Bowl). Return to the car, follow the road up until you reach the dam gate. Turn left and after a while jump out of the car and use grappling hook. You will reach the dam turning wheel Unfortunately, you cannot drive the jeep through. Go to the right side of the dam and use again the mechanism to open the gate. This time, the gate will open wide enough for the car to get through. Jump down into the car and cross the dam. Then, turn slightly right and jump over the bridge. Head north-east.

While going on the jeep, you will notice a small ladder on the right, with a small house behind it. Inside, there is a treasure and a journal note

At some point, you will spot a wooden ladder on the right. Get out of the car, go past the ladder, into the building where you find a journal note. Behind the house, there also is a treasure(Pewter Incense Burner). Return to the jeep. Soon, you will reach another water mill. Enter the building where there is the last treasure (XVIII-century Combination Lock). You can now head for the lift opposite. Lift the gate and Elena will drive the car into the lift.

In the lift, Elena will twice start an optional conversation

During the ride, you can have two optional conversations with the woman. After you reach the top, lift the door of the lift and follow the road. At some point, you will reach a large stone bridge. After you drive onto it, the bridge will collapse and you will drop into the river. Use grappling hook to get out.

Add a journal note about the collapsed bridge

After you regain control of Nate, follow Elena and go to the river bank, near the branch sticking out. Nate will add a journal note about the collapsed bridge. You can now continue climbing towards the waterfall. Along your path, you will find a passage, where you have to crouch. Do not take this passage and go right instead. Climb onto the ledge above. There, you find the second journal note. You can now continue climbing to the cave. At the other side, climb onto the ledge on the left and jump onto the cage with a dead pirate inside. Jump over to the other side, after you have taken several steps. This way, you end this chapter.
