After repairing the irrigation system at Moisture Farm, it's time to plant your first crops. In The Grass is Greener mission, you'll create your own growing kit and harvest Sandrice.

This page contains the walkthrough for The Grass is Greener main mission, in which Zeke will ask you to create a Basic Planting Kit. You will also receive your first seeds with which you will grow plants.

Starting the quest

To start the quest, you need to read the message you find in your mailbox the day after completing the Moisture Farm Blues quest. A diagram of the Basic Planting Kit will be included with the letter.

Make a Desert Planting Toolkit

You will create the Basic Planting Kit using Worktable. It requires the following materials:

1. Copper Stick x3 - can be crafted with the Processor machine using a total of 6 Bronze Bars. Materials can also be purchased from the Hammer Time shop for 66 Gols apiece.
2. Bronze Bars x6 - can be crafted with Furnace using a total of 18 Copper Ore and 12 Tin Ore. Both of these materials can be found at Eufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins.
3. Rubber Tube x3 - can be crafted with Worktable using a total of 9 pieces of Rubber (obtained when processing Rubber Scrap in the Recycler machine). You can buy the Rubber Tube recipe from the Commerce Guild Shop for 39 Gols, but you should already have it at this stage of the game.
4. Old Parts x2 - can be found in Eufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins or bought in Eufaula Salvage Shop for 40 Gols apiece.

Once you have the required materials, craft a Basic Planting Kit. It's time to visit Zeke.

Talk to Zeke

Zeke invariably resides at Moisture Farm north of town. The fastest way to get there is by using any of the Yakmel Station. Go inside the building and talk to the man.

Zeke will give you Sandrice seeds. The next task will be to plant the seeds and harvest the crops.

Harvest Sandrice

Go back to the workshop and pick a spot where you want to make plots for the crop. Select Basic Planting Kit from the pop-up menu and place 3 grass fields.

Then select the seeds and individually plant them in the plots.

Now water the planted seeds. An unwatered plot is marked with a water droplet icon with an exclamation mark.

Once you have done these steps, you will need to wait 2 days for the Sandrice to grow. The task has no time limit, so you can take care of other activities in the meantime. The game will inform you when the harvest is ready.

When Sandrice finally grows, select the Basic Planting Toolkit again and use the appropriate key for the Harvest action (it is the F key by default). After collecting three plants, Zeke will automatically appear at your farm. After a short conversation, the quest will be completed.
