My Time at Sandrock: Horse - how to get?
On this page we describe how to get your mount - how to rent, Wandering Y Store.
Last update:
In My Time at Sandrock, you don't have to resign yourself to walking everywhere on foot. With some patience and a bit of cash to spare, you can opt to rent a horse.
How to rent a horse?
First, you have to go to Wandering Y Ranch northeast of your workshop. You will find Elsie there, who will commission you on the Learning to Ride side quest and teach you how to ride a horse. The task is not mandatory, but is worth doing it to get the rewards.
Secondly, head to the store by the barn at Wandering Y Ranch, where you will have the opportunity to rent a mount. The choices are horse, camel or Yakmel. We recommend using the first option because a horse is the fastest of these three. Renting a mount for the first time is free, and you can ride it for a whole week.
Is horse riding worthwhile?
Since the fast travel system works well in My Time at Sandrock, the best use for the horse is for fun or as a change of pace. Crossing the desert on a mount is faster than on foot, but for longer distances it's best to use Yakmel Stations. Definitely take advantage of your initial free horse rental week.
