This page explains Relationship Points and how to obtain them. We also discuss which in-game friendships are the most beneficial and what you can gain by befriending the residents of Sandrock. We also describe the types of interactions between characters.
How do I earn Relationship Points?
Many of the actions you complete during the game will earn you Relationship Points, which are necessary to build your friendships with the locals. Keep in mind that points are calculated separately for each character, and you should interact with particular characters to develop specific relationships.
You can receive Relationship Points for:
- Completing main and side quests - the number of points you gain is determined by the task.
- Carrying out Comissions for specific people - the number of points you gain depends on the task type.
- Conversation - each casual conversation will net you 1 point.
- Gifts - you can give your friends almost any item from your inventory. However, keep in mind that each resident has different preferences. Some gifts will earn you more Relationship Points, while others will deduct them.
- Sparring - training fights grant you a random number of Relationship Points, depending on the character and whether you win the duel.
- Playing Critters - you will receive 5 Relationship Points for winning a game of cards, 3 for a tie, and 1 extra point for a loss.
Relationship levels
Depending on the character, your friendships can reach different levels, which come with certain benefits. Some friends will offer you discounts at their stores, others will increase your stats.
These are the various relationship levels:
- Acquaintance - allows for dialogue, sparring, and gift giving.
- Associate - at this level, you have a chance to receive a birthday gift from said friend.
- Buddy - you will receive the first individual bonus, depending on the character.
- Friend - you will receive the second individual bonus.
- Good Friend - you will receive the third individual bonus.
Who is worth befriending?
Eventually, you will develop relationships with all Sandrock residents, but it's worth spending more time with certain people to unlock better bonuses. The following characters are particularly worth focusing on:
- Pen - increases your attack and critical hit chance during combat.
- Matilda - increases the Relationship Points reward of every Commission by 2 points.
- Mi-an - increases your Stamina by 20 points. As you will be doing a lot of tasks for Mi-an during the game, befriending her won't prove difficult.
- Hugo - gives a discount in his store and lowers materials required to upgrade the workshop.
- Yan - increases Gols awarded for completing Commissions and gives a discount at the Commerce Guild Store.
