Browse the blueprints
You may find the instructions for crafting certain machines somewhat unclear. At such times, it's useful to refer to the item's blueprint, which displays the specific parts required to construct it. Over time, new machines will require more complex components, so it's a good idea to revisit previously unlocked blueprints as well.
Save the game manually
Although the game has an auto-save system, it's still a good idea to save manually now and then. If you make a mistake, you'll be able to go back and rethink the order of actions or try out other solutions. This is especially useful if you end up accidentally wasting an important part to craft something you don't currently need.
To save the game, simply go to the menu, click Save, choose any save slot, then confirm. You can also use the quick save option. Press the Tab key, then select Quick Save from the menu.
Rest at specific times
Resting in My Time at Sandrock is critical. Go to bed before midnight to receive a bonus to your experience and minimum and maximum damage dealt in combat the next day. If you don't go to bed by 3:00, your character will pass out and wake up with a decreased number of Stamina Points, reducing the number of actions you may take. Both bonuses and penalties last until the end of the day.
Manage your time well
Some tasks in the game can only be completed within a certain timespan. This applies to certain side quests as well as Commissions. For the latter, only take on challenges that you are confident of completing, as there may be a penalty if you fail.
Depending on the complexity, constructing machines and tools also takes time. It's a good idea to consider the order to build things in while completing other tasks in the meantime, such as gathering resources or doing quests. There is always something to do in My Time at Sandrock.
Keep an eye on your parts stock
Having enough supplies is the foundation of a successful My Time at Sandrock playthrough. Always have at least 5 of each ingredient, tool and component on hand. If you don't have room in your inventory, you can always store your supplies in chests to conveniently access key parts when necessary. This method will greatly speed up the construction of more complex devices without taking up machines to produce smaller components.
Clean the sand off your machines
Every now and then, sand will cover your devices. It's a good idea to check the machines now and then and remove the lingering sand layer. Since the sand slows down part production, it's crucial to remove it. To get rid of it, use the Feather Duster item. Its blueprint is available for purchase from the Commerce Guild for 92 Gols.
Increase your inventory capacity
My Time at Sandrock allows you to store resources in special chests, but constantly going back and putting away excess items can be tedious. As such, consider spending Gols to increase the number of slots in your inventory. Just click the plus icon to gain a new item slot. The first one costs 10 Gols, but each subsequent slot will cost you more.
Always activate research
It takes 3 to 4 days to develop new diagrams at the Research Center, so it's important that Qi is always busy. There are really a lot of blueprints to develop, and it may happen that you delay the task by not having the right diagram. As soon as a new blueprint arrives in your mailbox, immediately go to the Research Center to commission research on the next one.
Build many crafting stations of the same type
Many items will require you to create materials that can be crafted with a specific station. By having several of the same crafting stations, you won't have to wait until the production of one material is over before you can start making another. This is especially useful in the later stages of the game when you will have to craft many items at the same time.
Build a Fire Powered Generator
Almost every crafting station in your workshop requires fuel to operate. Providing it to each station can be cumbersome, so it's a good idea to build a Fire Powered Generator as soon as possible to distribute fuel to the machines automatically. Instructions for building the generator can be found on the page: Fire Powered Generator - how to build?
Do commissions
Commissions are extremely important tasks in My Time at Sandrock. First of all, they are a great source of Gols and Reputation Points. Completing commissions will also provide you with a lot of Relationship Points with the character for whom you are doing the work. Always try to take on a commission, but choose them carefully, as failing to fulfill the request can result in negative points.
