Starting the quest
The day after completed the In Trusses We Trust main quest you'll receive a letter from Qi, telling you he can help you fix the bridge. He needs a Power Core to do so, which can be found in the Paradise Lost ruins.
Preparing for the quest
Before heading to Paradise Lost you should prepare and learn some things about the area.
- Paradise Lost is linear - there's only one path to the main objective and it's not too complicated.
- Make space in your inventory - there are many treasure chests and Junk Piles inside, therefore you should have some space in your backpack to take them with you.
- Take your favorite weapon - there are quite a few enemies in Paradise Lost, so you should take your favorite weapon with you.
- Take the Pickhammer- it will let you smash opened chests and obtain Old Parts.
- Make sure you're at least level 15 - this will make the enemies much easier and you won't need to constantly heal between battles.
Head for Paradise Lost
The mission marker on the map shows Paradise Lost to be far to the south-east, but you can reach it through the (still closed for now) entrance in Eufaula Salvage. We've marked the gate on the picture above.
Getting close to it causes Mi-an to fix to gate, letting you go through. After a cutscene keep going down until you reach the entrance to Paradise Lost.
You may run into a few enemies on the way, but they aren't too difficult and die after a few hits. Aside from enemies, you'll also find some destructible items like boxes and pots.
Once you reach the entrance, enter Paradise Lost.
Explore Paradise Lost
Making your way through Paradise Lost is pretty simple, as you'll be guided by green arrows from time to time. All the chests and keys are relatively easy to spot and you should collect most of them while progressing through the area.
Keep moving forward, defeat the enemies and head where the green arrow is pointing. You must go up through an empty container.
Go through the room and collect 2x Rubber Shell from the chest.
Head for the bridge. The door in front of you is locked. You need an Orange Mall Key to open it.
Follow the green arrows, but once you reach the sign, go in the opposite direction to reach a chest with more Rubber Shells.
Now follow the arrows to find the Orange Mall Key at the end. Go back to the big door, use the key and keep going.
In the next room, in the lower left corner, there is a chest with 3x Water.
In the middle of the room is the first part of the Blue Mall Key. Take it and follow the arrows again.
At the bottom defeat an enemy to reveal a chest containing 2x Steel Bar.
Go through a narrow passage where two harmless enemies dwell and turn right. Between the containers is yet another chest, this time containing 5x Data Discs.
Not far to the west, in an old container, is another chest, also containing 5x Data Discs.
Keep going and climb the container to find the Yellow Mall Key.
Right next to it, between the two containers, is another chest containing 5x Data Discs.
Walk across the makeshift bridges and use the Yellow Mall Key to enter the room.
You'll find the second part of the Blue Mall Key inside.
By the wall in the middle is a chest with 2x Rubber Shell and a healing station. Use it.
This time you should disregard the arrows. They point you towards the exit from Paradise Lost, but you still have plenty to do. Go around the room and head down.
By the old couches and dishes is the Purple Mall Key.
Use it on the key reader above to open the door.
Turn left - at the end of the container is the third part of the Blue Mall Key.
Not far away is also a chest with 3x Water.
Head north and use all the Blue Mall Key parts on the reader. You'll open a small door.
Behind it is a chest with 5x Data Discs.
As you go up the stairs you're bound to notice another chest, this time holding 3x Water.
On the right, however, you'll find the Red Mall Key. Take it and rush up, ignoring the green arrows directing you to the door on the first floor.
Defeat the Hauler and insert the Red Mall Key into the key reader. There are three chests here. They contain the Peackock Feather Brooch accessory, a Diamond and an Opal.
Return to the floor where the green arrows are and walk through the door.
Use the healing station and go on. It's time for an unusual boss fight.
Destroy Console and Attack Exposed Core
The Control Cat, though it has a health bar and shields like all the other bosses, doesn't actively try to fight you. It can only injure you if you touch its electrified arms. Your objective is to destroy the consoles and the cores.
You'll find Console A on the right - hit it a few times to break it.
The cat's arms will lower, letting you move behind the boss. There's an exposed core there you must destroy with your weapons.
Next to it are Consoles B and C. Destroy them, as well as their corresponding cores.
Once you do so, the boss will deactivate and you'll obtain the Strange Power Core.
Talk to Qi
It's time to leave Paradise Lost. Use the door located in the eastern part of the room and head to the Research Center to talk to the researcher. This marks the end of the quest.
