During your adventure with Like a Dragon: Ishin you may want to travel between locations faster and easier. This is made possible through fast travel, and on this page of the guide, we explain when fast travel becomes available, what are Palanquin Rides, where can you find the Boatman, how to choose your destination, and whether you need to pay for the ride.
Unlocking fast travel
Traveling between remote locations in Kyo can take up much of your time, but fortunately, there is a fast travel mechanic in Like a Dragon: Ishin. The idea behind it is very similar to taxis from the Yakuza series.
Fast travel becomes available from Chapter 3. From that moment on, Palanquin Ride stations appear on Kyo's map and are marked with pink icons. To travel, simply talk to the carrier.
Traveling with a Palanquin Ride
Initially, only 3 fast travel points are available - Fushimi, Rakunai and Rakugai. As you progress through the campaign, the list of locations you can travel to will grow.
Each journey costs at least 500 Mon. As a result, you may use fast travel only if you want to travel to a remote location in Kyo or access a location outside of the main map.
Traveling with a Boatman
The fast travel service is also offered by the Boatman, whom you meet for the first time in Chapter 2. From Chapter 3, you can find him in Shinmachi, in the southeastern part of the Fushimi district.
Initially, the only available destination is Mukurogai, but from Chapter 4 it will also be possible to travel to the hero's second home. The boat trip costs at least 500 Mon.
