Like a Dragon Ishin: How to increase inventory capacity?

Default inventory capacity

Ryoma's inventory can initally store up to 25 items. These include consumable items (medicine, food, etc.) and sellable loot (such as plates).

Picking up an item when your inventory is full sends it to the Storage - it can be browsed at any shrine or at Ryoma's hideout.

More inventory slots

Inventory capacity can be increased. At the beginning of Chapter 2 you'll unlock Virtue reputation points, awarded for various in-game activities (mostly for completing challenges and Substories).

You can visit one of the large shrines and select the Exchange Virtue option. In the list of rewards there's an Inventory Capacity option - this increases your capacity. The description will let you know how potent the effect is - the first upgrade pictured above increases your inventory by four slots.

Storing crafting ingredients

The inventory capacity doesn't apply to items stored outside of it. These items include crafting ingredients, such as materials used to create and upgrade weapons, fish or plants. All these items have a hard cap of 999. Get rid of the excess items if you're getting close to the cap.
