Like a Dragon: Ishin doesn't have a simple currency notation (like item X costing 50,000 yen). On this page ofour guide, we explain how to calculate currency using the Ryo and Mon notaion. This will help you understand how much money you have and how much do goods and services cost.
Explanation of the Ryo and Mon notation
At first, you may have troubles understanding the currency notation in Like a Dragon: Ishin - the game makes use of Ryo and Mon. You'll find the notation in the upper right corner of the inventory, interaction and trade windows.
Ryo and Mon aren't separate currencies, but a notation of the same currency (the amount of coins you have).
This notation is, thankfully, easy to understand - 1 ryo equals 10,000 mon. Ryoma starts the game with 6 ryo 0000 mon, meaning 60,000 mon (60,000 coins).
Ryo and Mon during purchases
A similar notation appears during purchases. In the example pictured above:
- 5,000 mon means 5,000 mon (5,000 coins);
- 1 ryo means 10,000 mon;
- 10 ryo means 100,000 mon.
