On this page of our Like a Dragon: Ishin guide we show ways of obtaining Ginseng. There are two different ways of getting Ginseng - you can plant it on your farm at the Second Home, or buy it from vendors. The item itself has a few uses and can be used to make a lot of money.
Farming Ginseng at the farm
Ginseng is the rarest and the most valuable plant species of Like a Dragon: Ishin .
You can farm it by yourself, but there are two conditions to be met:
- First, you need to have the Another Life (the farm) unlocked (this happens in Chapter 4).
- you need to buy Green Thumb: Ginseng upgrade from a shrine - it costs as much as 10000 Virtue, but the ability to grow Ginseng pays off so much that we recommend saving up the points.
Once these two conditions are met, you can grow Ginseng on your farm. 1 unit of Ginseng occupies a 1x1 field, so it is a good idea to plant more of them preferably next to each other.
Ginseng grows very slowly - you need to be patient. You can use Fertilizer to speed up the process.
Ginseng sold by traders
If you need Ginseng NOW, you can buy it at one of the stores. For example, a good place to look would be General Goods store in Rakunai. 1 unit of Ginseng costs 1 Ryo, which translates to 10.000 Mon.

Ginseng uses
The basic use for Ginseng is fulfilling Trade Orders on the farm. You need to check whether Ginseng is needed in the current order. It may turn out that you need to complete the current order in order to unlock further ones that involve delivering different vegetables and fruits.
The reward for completing a Trade Order is not always the same. As per the example from the screenshot above, 1 Ginseng may yield even up to 37500 Mon, but in other cases, it may be "only" 10,000 - 15,000 Mon.
We do not recommend selling Ginseng at Ebisu Pawns, as the selling price won't come near anything you can get for completing Trade Orders. Make sure to squirrel Ginseng away so you have enough of it to complete Trade Orders as they appear.
