How does indulgence work?
The various activities you undertake in KCD 2 may meet with approval or disapproval from local populations. The nature of your action will be indicated by an icon appearing in the top right corner of the screen.
- A positive reputation among the locals will make them more willing to share information with you. You can count on slightly better prices from merchants and service providers.
- Similarly, a bad reputation can attract the attention of guards. Additionally, local residents will be less willing to engage in discussion with you. In extreme cases, traders and craftsmen may refuse you their services, chasing you away from their shops.
One way to fix your reputation is to use the indulgence Chests scattered around the world. They are most often placed in easy-to-spot places.
If you happen to cause some trouble, you can go to one of these Chests and put a certain amount of money into it. The money donated to the church should improve your reputation in the surrounding area.
- If you have a lot of transgressions on your account, expect that the price of indulgence may be quite high (even over thousands of groschen). You will see the cost of the indulgence in the bottom right corner of the screen.
- Forgiveness is not a universal remedy for a severely tarnished reputation. To rebuild it, good deeds will also be necessary.
- Indulgence increases your popularity, especially among the clergy.
