The gameplay in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 involves exploring a detailed, open world. The game has a fast travel system to facilitate exploration. However, it has its limitations, and using it involves some risk. On this page, you will learn everything about fast travel.

How does fast travel work?

Fast travel is a system that allows for instant movement around the map. You can choose most of the large locations such as villages, cities or castles as your travelling destination. Fast travel points are marked with blue icons with a circle on the world map.

What is very important, you have to visit a given location at least once before you can teleport to it instantly.

You can find all the fast travel point locations on the All fast travel points page.

To use fast travel, open the map and select the travel destination marked with a blue icon. Press the button marked as "Travel" at the bottom of the screen (E on keyboard).

You cannot use fast travel when your character is overloaded or when you are in the middle of a fight.

The icon symbolizing Henry will begin its journey to the destination. Time in the game does not stop - the clock shield at the bottom of the screen will inform you about the passing hours.

The journey is tiring for the hero, therefore upon arrival, Henry's hunger and fatigue levels will increase.

What are random events?

There is a certain risk associated with the fast travel mechanic - random events encountered along the way. Your journey may be disrupted by a message describing an unexpected incident. For example, it could be a drunkard begging Henry for alms, or a wandering mercenary proposing a duel for money. From the map level, you can decide whether you want to participate in the encounter or ignore it.

However, sometimes random events can be dangerous. Henry can be, for example, attacked by a group of bandits. Escaping such a situation is not always possible (chances of escape are visible at the bottom of the screen), which will force you to fight the attackers. Before each fast travel, make sure that your hero is properly prepared for unexpected skirmishes.
