So it begins... is one of the main quests in the final act of Kingdom Come 2. It starts the final battle in the main storyline, consisting of several tasks - the siege of Suchdol. On this guide page, we described how to repel the first attack on Suchdol, recruit people to Henry's company, and complete a night watch.

How to repel the attack on Suchdol?
The siege of Suchdol strongly resembles the siege of Nebakov, in which you participated during The Finger of God quest. Start the battle by shooting at the enemies from the top of the wall (take cover behind the palisade), and if you don't have a pole weapon with you, grab one of the halberds set up by the stairs. Several soldiers will break through to the main gate and start chopping it with axes - position yourselves above the main gate and drop stones on the enemies' heads through the hole in the palisade (they are stacked right next to the hole). Eventually, the enemies will place five ladders against the walls, which you must push away with a polearm.
If any enemy breaches the walls, be careful - enemies are excellently trained and can perform master strikes. Do not attack them from the direction opposite to their guard. If you see an enemy climbing up the ladder, attack - they are defenseless while climbing. The attack will end when you knock down all the ladders and get rid of all the enemies on the walls. After a short conversation, you will move on to the next day.
How to recruit people for Henry's company?
The next day, talk to Janosh at the entrance to the basement to receive a food ration (don't eat everything at once so you don't overeat and don't ask for more!). Also talk to Captain Frenzl in the forge and sharpen two blunt swords lying on the table next to him. You can also exchange a few words with Musa and Katherine in the field hospital in the inner courtyard.
Talk to Zizka on the walls. Henry receives command over his own company consisting of six people. Walk around the fortress and recruit them. A short, friendly conversation is enough to avoid any problems with them. These people are:
- Kubyenka and Samuel - you will find them in the dining room.
- Kozliek - you will find him on the walls of the inner courtyard.
- Wolfram - you will find him in the basement. As a civilian, he is filled with dread by the idea of going into battle, so you can try to calm him down (Might - Very Difficult, 24 points were enough for us),
- Janek and Jaroslav - you will find them in the outer courtyard.
When all the soldiers gather in the courtyard, talk to them. You can give a speech to boost their morale (Speech, Domination - Medium, Might - Hard). Next, you have to choose whether the company members should go on night watch today, or rest and repair their equipment. Choosing the night watch will make the next part of the quest easier. After the speech, go to your room, talk to Capon and go to sleep.
How to finish a night watch?
At night, the Dry Devil will wake you up - it's time for your watch. Go to the walls and check on the guards. The guard on the walls of the inner courtyard fell asleep - punch him to wake him up. One of the guards on the outer walls is acting suspiciously - ask him who his commander is, and he will turn out to be a spy. This will initiate another attack by the Prague soldiers.
Compared to the previous attack, this one will prove to be much easier. The Praguers placed two ladders at the edge of the palisade - knock them both over. Next, go to the courtyard and get rid of a few Praguers who managed to get inside. After the fight, talk to Zizka to complete the quest.
