How to activate the Invaders quest?
To activate the Invaders quest, all you need to do is talk to the elder innkeeper in Troskowitz. The woman, when asked about the latest news, will tell you about the Cumans causing trouble in the tavern and will also send you to Vuytek.
You will find Vuytek near the green garden. Talk to him. The man will send you to the village of Semine and order you to talk to the local residents.
How to locate the Cuman camp?
Go to Semine. Ask any villager about the Cumans. We got the information from a housewife sitting in front of one of the huts.
The residents will advise you to ask Lord Semine or Captain Gnarly about the Cumans. Both men reside in a manor next to the village.
Lord will share with you what he knows. The local shepherd or Bozhena, the herbalist known from the prologue, will know the exact location of the Cumans' camp.
It doesn't matter which of the two you go to. We chose shepherd Natan because he was much closer.
When asked about the matter, Natan will reveal that the mercenary post is located right next to the nomad camp, in the western part of the map. Go to that place.
Kill or spare the Cumans?
The Cumans' camp is located below the nomads' camp. Going from the south, turn into the small gorge located on the left. This way, you will quickly reach a group of mercenaries.
There are two ways to solve the Cuman issue:
- You can simply kill them and end the problem of tavern brawls once and for all. However, we do not recommend this path. It will deprive you of the opportunity to experience another interesting quest. Moreover, it will dramatically lower your relations with the Cumans (which may matter in further sections of the game), and also force you to fight several enemies at once. If you absolutely want to choose this path, we recommend you sneak into the camp at night and attack the sleeping mercenaries.
- A much better option is to befriend the Cumans and convince them to stop going to Troskowitz.
How to befriend the Cumans?
Talk to Vasko, the leader of the Cumans. While explaining the request of the Troskowitz people, choose a less conflictive option (warning).
While talking to Vasko, you will learn a lot about the fate of the Cuman group. For example, Henry will find out that they could have participated in the attack on Skalitz, his hometown. If you care about good relations with the group, try not to delve too much into this topic. Instead, ask about other things and agree to more servings of alcohol.
Eventually, the conversation will focus on the one-sided romance between young Jasak and a girl from the nomad camp. Agree to help the mercenary win the woman's heart.
Follow Jasak to his lady. Once there, you will face a series of skill checks. They will determine whether the nomad woman agrees to go on a date with the Cuman.
Completing the checks successfully will require very high Charisma stats. If you fail, the girl will reject Jasak, and the wounded mercenary will start throwing punches at you. Fighting him is not too difficult though. After clarifying a few things, return together to the camp.
During further revelry, you can learn more about Vasko and his group. To gain the trust of the Cumans, try to choose positive and peaceful dialogue options.
Where to find moonshine?
When Vasko goes to look for alcohol, follow him. By clicking the appropriate button (Left Alt on the keyboard), you can force Henry to follow the NPC leading the way.
You can respond to Vasko's song. This will increase your reputation among the Cumans.
When drunk Vasko loses consciousness, talk to the talking dog. Then head towards the marker on the compass. The alcohol stash is wedged between two rocks. It's hard to notice it, so get closer and look out for the prompt to open the bag.
Return to the camp carefully and continue drinking. After the humorous dialogue options, Henry agrees to participate in a swimming competition.
A moment later, you will wake up in the middle of the lake. All you have to do is jump back into the water. In the cutscene, Henry will be saved.
Finally, you can ask the Cumans not to Troskowitz anymore. If you kept drinking and maintained a positive relationship with the Nomads, Vasko will agree to your request. Otherwise, you will have to bribe the Cumans or pass a Speech check.
Completing the quest
The next day, Henry will wake up still drunk. Put your clothes back on and return to Troskowitz.
Locate Vuytek and pass on the information that the Cumans will no longer cause any more trouble.
- You can lie that you killed all the nomads.
- If you admit that you convinced the Cumans to cooperate peacefully, you will have to pass a skill check to receive the reward (25 groschen).
Regardless of the chosen option, the Invaders quest will come to an end here.
If you want to convince Vuytek that the problem has been solved, it's worth waiting until Henry sobers up. Hangover reduces your rhetorical abilities.
