Reckoning is the main quest in the final act of Kingdom Come 2. It is part of the siege of Suchdol, the last battle in the main storyline. You can treat it as the climax of the game, as you will face many decisions here. The quests that come after it are significantly simpler in comparison. On this guide page, we described how to get through the Praguers' camp, where to find Markvart, how to save Samuel, and find a horse.

If you wear the waffenrock of the Praguers, which you received during The Lion's Den quest, the Praguers will perceive you as one of them. As a result, you will be able to move freely around the camp. If you don't have that waffenrock with you, sneak into the middle of the camp, quietly kill an enemy soldier, hide his body, and take his waffenrock.

How to find Markvart?

During this quest, you have one main objective, which is to find a horse, and two optional ones: to find Markvart and save Samuel. Markvart is waiting for you at the tavern in the center of the village. Wait until the soldier patrolling the tavern's yard moves away and quietly get rid of the soldier sitting by the fire. Hide the body in the dark stable next to the tavern. Take his key and enter through the main doors, where you will finally come face to face with Markvart.

Mortally wounded by Dry Devil, Markvart is dying: he has just a few hours left. Talk to him. During the conversation, you can stand up for King Wenceslaus (Scholarship - Hard). In the end, however, you will have to make a decision - give Markvart the honorable death he asks for, brutally slaughter him, or walk away and let him die from his wounds. The choice only affects the game's ending: the spirits of Henry's parents will think better of him if you leave Markvart alone.

How to save Samuel?

Samuel is being held in a locked barn, in the southwest of the village, not far from the tavern. As soon as you get close, you will hear a familiar voice: Brabant is interrogating Sam. You will notice a ladder leaning against the side wall of the barn. It leads to the attic, so climb it.

There is a hole in the attic, through which you can jump down to the ground floor and attack Brabant. You will take him by surprise plus he won't have any gear on him and as such, won't be a very demanding enemy. In the end, you will have to decide what to do with the traitor - whether to kill him or spare him. If you kill Brabant, in the ending sequence Henry's parents will be dissatisfied with his actions. If you spare him, Brabant will call for help - you can kill him for that, but he will manage to raise the alarm throughout the camp, making your disguise useless. This will significantly complicate the rest of the quest: the choice is yours.

Afterwards, you will have to make one more decision. Samuel is injured and cannot move - if you want to save him, you must carry him to the horse (if you've killed Brabant and are disguised, you can carry Samuel in front of the townspeople and excuse yourself by saying that you are carrying a dead spy out of the camp). Samuel is heavy, so you will probably have to throw away some of your equipment in order to be able to get him on the horse.

  1. If you save Samuel, he will survive, but Henry will be late with bringing reinforcements. You will still manage to save the defenders of Suchdol, but the Praguers will steal all the silver during this time.
  2. If you leave Samuel, the Praguers will hang him. Henry will bring reinforcements in time, saving both the defenders of Suchdol and the silver stolen from Sigismund.

How to find a horse?

The horses are located in the stable in the southwest of the village, near the outskirts of the quest area. Interact with one of the horses to leave the camp, either alone or with Samuel. This will complete the quest.
