Last update: 28 March 2022
On this page of the Ghostwire Tokyo guide, you will find information on how to get to the roofs of tall buildings and what to find on them. You will also learn how to find flying tengu creatures, how to use the grapple and what does the glide do.
Advantages of climbing the rooftops
As you explore Tokyo in Ghostwire Tokyo, be aware that not every secret is on the streets. Some treasures can be found on the roofs of buildings. These can be, for example, collectibles, spirits that can be absorbed, or yellow ether crystals that help in obtaining meika.
Tengu and the grapple
In some cases, you will be able to reach the rooftops using "traditional" methods - staircases and elevators/moving platforms.
The rooftops with the best treasures can only be reached with the help of the flying Tengu creatures. They are marked on the map.
After reaching the indicated location, start looking for a flying tengu - this creature can stay in one place or fly over the area. You can pull yourself to the tengu with the grapple - you need to aim at the tengu (L2) and press the jump button (X) to use the grapple. The hero will pull himself towards the tengu (these creatures are neutral).
Glide - what is it for?
You activate glide by holding the jump button - this can also help you reach roofs and other high ledges. Gliding can be useful, e.g. for reaching the rooftops of buildings or simply traveling around the game world.
The default glide is quite short, but you can extend the glide time up to 5 seconds. You will have to buy abilities related to glide (picture above).
Additional hint - There is no risk of dying after falling from a great height. Don't worry if you stop suddenly while gliding. You will simply land on the ground without taking any damage.
