Last update: 07 April 2022

This page of the Ghostwire Tokyo trophy guide contains a walkthrough of the Master of Blocking achievement - you will learn about perfect blocks, how to make initiating perfect blocks easier and how to easily perform 30 perfect blocks in a single fight.

For obvious reasons, it's much more challenging to perform perfect blocks than "standard" ones. In order to initiate a perfect block, you have to press (not hold down) the block button (L1 on PS5) at the last moment, i.e. just before the enemy's attack reaches the main character.

A successful perfect block allows you to completely avoid taking damage and can also break a Visitor's poise for a short while. You don't have to buy any abilities in order to perform perfect blocks, because they are available from the beginning of the game and you just need to learn how to use them correctly.

You can make it easier to use perfect blocks. Spectral food can help you with this. Some of these items double the time window of a perfect block, i.e. the game will be more forgiving when it comes to pressing the button and correctly timing your perfect block.

These items include the Nether Rice Ball pictured above. You can find spectral food in the game world along with other loot.

To earn this trophy, locate 1-2 "regular" enemies, i.e. some easy-to-beat Visitors. The point is to target enemies with predictable and easy-to-block attacks.

Eat the rice ball (or other spectral food with the aforementioned perfect block bonus) and initiate the fight. During the battle, focus only on performing perfect blocks and don't attack the Visitors.

You can make 30 perfect blocks in a single battle to unlock the achievement. Just remember to keep an eye on the perfect blocks bonus bar (on the left side of the screen) to learn how long easier blocks will remain active.
