- Reward for completing the mission - Master Override
- Voelker's RIG
- White's RIG
- Holt's RIG
- Dallas's RIG
- Rousseau's RIG
- Bailey's RIG
- Benson's RIG
Unlocking the side mission
The earliest you can unlock this mission is in chapter 4: Obliteration Imminent, specifically during the visit to the Captain's Nest, which is located on the Bridge under the Main Atrium. You can also freely return to the nest later in the game.
There is an interactive terminal on the right in the room and you have to examine it.
This quest is about finding the RIGs of various Ishimura crew members. Their list will be visible in the journal and some RIGs can only be reached after unlocking new ship decks in later chapters.
You can collect RIGs in any order, and it's also a good idea to turn on the locator (instead of tracking the current main objective of the mission).
Chances are you have already found some RIGs related to the quest before you started it. They won't be lost and you'll have less to do.
Reward for completing the mission - Master Override
Once you've collected all the RIGs, you'll need to return to the Captain's Nest. Interacting with the terminal again will let you construct a Master Security Override key.
From now on, you can open locks with a star icon - these can be doors and containers. Many of these locations have very valuable items, such as rare power nodes you can sale or use in weapon upgrades.
Locks you have came across that require the Master Override are marked on the map. This way, you can easily return to those locations.
An additional reward for completing the quest is the Full Clearance trophy.
Voelker's RIG
The RIG is levitating in the void in the northeast section of the Flight Deck. You visit this place for the first time at the beginning of chapter 3, and it was possible to obtain the RIG at that time. You can also return to the deck later in the campaign.
White's RIG
The RIG levitates in the void outside of the Bridge, in the location with the ADS cannons. You can obtain this item for the first time at the end of chapter 4 - you will have to calibrate 3 ADS cannons here. You can also return to outer space later in the game.
Holt's RIG
The RIG is on the Hydroponics Deck, specifically in the East Grow Chamber. You can explore this deck for the first time in chapter 6. You must destroy the adjacent growths to gain access to the secret item.
Dallas's RIG
The RIG is in the Mineral Processing Control on the Mining Deck, which you first explore in chapter 7. Finding it is required to advance in the main campaign (and obtain Security Clearance 3).
Rousseau's RIG
The RIG is on the Engineering Deck, in a small southern room on level 5 that is adjacent to the Fuel Storage.
This room has a level 3 lock, so you can't search it until you find Dallas's RIG.
Bailey's RIG
The RIG can be found on the comm deck, which you explore in chapter 8. You need to reach the Comms Control Room, which is adjacent to the Comms Array puzzle location. The room door has a level 3 lock.
Benson's RIG
The RIG is east of the main part of the Bridge. This is the area with the tram tunnels, which you can explore for the first time in chapter 10, during the main quest in which you have to reach the shuttle.
There is a tunnel to explore under the tram rails that travels between the different decks. You have to defeat a group of monsters and explore a very dimly lit area.
