In Dead Space Remake, Isaac travels through various decks of the Ishimura ship. On this page, you will find out whether you can return to previously visited locations by fast traveling to, for example, get a missed loot and collectibles or complete optional quests.
Using the tram and available stations
The remake of Dead Space has the option of using the tram to travel between different decks of Ishimura, and you can return to decks you have already visited.
After reaching any tram station, you can enter the tram and interact with the terminal. You will see a list of decks. You can choose those you have explored earlier in the main storyline. Unknown decks or parts of them will remain locked until you make enough progress.
By returning to old locations, you can:
- Complete side missions - Many of them require you to visit different parts of Ishimura, e.g. to examine next clues.
- Find secrets, e.g. audiologs.
- Open previously inaccessible doors and containers - After obtaining a higher-level security clearance, return to those places where it can be used.
Unlocking new stations on Ishimura
New parts of Ishimura will be unlocked primarily by making progress in the game. As the main story progresses, Isaac visits new decks of the ship, such as the hydroponics, medical deck, and mining deck.
You can also unlock stations manually - through Override Station Lockdown. After reaching a locked station on a given deck, use the terminal next to it. The station will open and a tram will appear on it. From now on, you can use the tram to fast travel.
