Reach the Executive Shuttle
After the chapter starts, travel back to the elevator and ride to Main Atrium. Proceed east. There is a newly unlocked pathway next to the shop that leads to Crew Deck and Tram Tunnels.
In the tunnels, you'll find a small elevator that will take you to the Crew Quarters. Reach the tram station (lift the lockdown while you're there) and listen to the conversation with Daniels - your mission objectives will be updated.
While in the tunnels, you can also embark to find the final RIG which is a goal of the You Are Not Authorized side mission - to learn more, view the walkthrough for the quest.
Find the Crew Deck Key
Once you arrive in the Common Area, you can save the game and restock at the store. The northern door requires a keycard and finding it will be your next objective.
Start by reaching Standard Bathrooms, as there are Advanced Engineering RIG Schematics here which unlocks level 5 of the Suit. Once bought, you have 20% of armor and 30 inventory slots.
There is also a Zero-G Gym nearby. Inside, you can take part in an optional mini-game involving throwing balls using Kinesis. Completing the minigame unlocks the Z-Baller trophy - we discuss it in more detail in the trophy guide.
Follow the linear path to reach a small elevator - it turns out it is inactive. Enter the Zero-G Gym and explore it. There is a power cell here that has to be grabbed using Kinesis. Carry it to a red slot to unlock the small elevator.
On the new floor, you should encounter a corpse that has the Crew Deck Keycard on him.
Backtrack through the corridors to the Common Area. A larger battle against necromorphs awaits you here. Once the enemies are defeated, use the keycard to unlock the elevator.
Ride to Floor 1 . After emerging from the elevator, you'll find yourself in Central Nexus and a new cut-scene featuring Mercer will be activated.
Escape the Hunter
Reminder - the hunter is immune to damage, but you can slow him down by cutting of his limbs (they grow back) and using Stasis. The escape route is linear and planned in advance. Unfortunately, Nexus is locked for now and you need to head east. Find an orange growth (screenshot above) and fire at it to get rid of the tendril and unlock the path forward.
You've almost evaded the Hunter. He will reappear later in the chapter - look for him especially after completing the current mission objective. Always focus on escaping the room in which the monster is and each chase should end with this.
Destroy Tendril in Standard Quarters
From time to time, you'll receive mission objectives that are written using a foreign language, but you don't have to pay them any mind. When that happens, continue forward and sooner or later things should get back to normal.
Proceed through Mess Hall and use the small elevator. In the next area, fight the monsters all the while watching out for smaller creatures (use the flamethrower to get rid of them). The door upstairs leads to Standard Quarters . You;'ll reach a barricaded northern door - use Kinesis to move the items out of the way.
The next room is filled with poisonous gas and moreover, you need to watch out for tentacled monsters attached to the walls - as always, shoot them from a safe distance.
Once cleared, look around the area for a new growth (screenshot) and destroy it to eliminate the tendril from this part of the quarters. Leave the area as fast as possible to avoid the Hunter.
Destroy Tendril in Deluxe Quarters
Once the hunter is evaded, look again in the northern room. Find the neighboring Storage Room . There is a power cell here - grab it with Kinesis and travel south. Reach the room with the save station - there is a red cell slot here and a new elevator.
The path will lead you back to the Central Nexus where you had an encounter with the Mercer's Hunter. This time you can safely look around the area. Unfortunately, further parts of this deck are unlocked gradually with the destruction of next tendrils.
Ride the new small elevator. The upper balconies contain a passage to Deluxe Quarters .
Exploring the quarters is purely optional, but there is a side quest taking place here (Scientific Methods) which we've discussed in detail on a dedicated page of our walkthrough.
As you explore, lockdown will be activated - to clear it, you must defeat all necromorphs here. There is a new orange growth (screenshot) in one of the corners of the main corridor.
Destroy Tendril in Executive Quarters
Travel back to Central Nexus section. The Executive Quarters can be reached via the upper balconies (western pathway).
Choose the southern door to reach Executive Bathrooms and take care of the orange growth inside (screenshot above).
Destroy Tendril in Chief Steward's Office
Once again, travel back to Central Nexus - watch out, as another lockdown will be initiated - defeat the necromorphs to lift it. A new pathway is available in the southwestern part of the Nexus, leading to Chief Steward's Office. Watch the meeting scene with Dr. Kyne.
Move to the neighboring room (Inquiry Desks) and take care of the orange growth (screenshot).
Retrieve the Marker
Go back to Central Nexus and ride the elevator to the bottom level. Another lockdown will be initiated - defeat the necromorphs to lift it.
Approach the Marker and use the terminal.
Reach the Executive Shuttle - continued
Your next destination is Executive Shuttle Bay. Explore the hangar slowly and gather supplies, as they will come in handy in the upcoming battle.
Enter the shuttle and install the Singularity Core.
Test-Fire the Engines
Go to the Shuttle Bay Controls room and interact with the terminal. This action leads to a new appearance of the Hunter, and Isaac has to face him.
Kill the Hunter
Right after the battle starts, use Stasis on the hunter, and optionally, cut off his lower limbs.
This way you can leave the control room without receiving damage.
Your goal is to get the hunter behind the shuttle, to the location where the engine test took place. Additional necromorphs will strive to interrupt your actions and it would be best to elminate at least some of them. The task doesn't have a time limit - you can safely run around the hall and eliminate creatures with ranged attacks.
After the area is more or less cleared, repeat the previous action - slow down the Hunter with Stasis and cut off his lower limbs.
Now you have to quickly run to the control room and test the engines again . In order to be defeated, the Hunter must be in the blast zone of the engines. If he managed to leave the designated area, repeat the previous steps and try to stop him with Stasis.
Load the Marker
After leaving the room, Isaac will be grabbed by a giant tentacle. Wait until you regain control of the protagonist and shoot the orange growths on the tentacle. Another cut-scene will start, and once the conversations are concluded, Chapter 11 begins.
