How to level up fast in Assassin's Creed Origins? Leveling Guide
Last update: 15 November 2017
Below, you can find a set of tips that can help you in getting experience quickly in Assassin's Creed: Origins. You need these points to level up and unlock new abilities. Developing Bayek regularly is very important because defeating enemies with higher levels or trying to complete quests with a higher suggested level than your current one can be problematic.
- 1) Complete quests
- 2) Discover new locations on the map
- 3) Complete locations
- 4) Destroy pharaoh's statues
- 5) Synchronizations on vantage points
- 6) Complete community quests
- 7) (Stealth) kill enemies
- 8) Solving the papyrus riddles
- 9) Random events in the game
- Other ways of getting ability points
1) Complete quests
Completing a quest can reward you with a few hundreds or even a few thousands of XP. Try to unlock new quests regularly in a part of the map in which you are currently in (white exclamation marks on the map). Then, you should immediately complete those that are suitable for your current level.
2) Discover new locations on the map
During your exploration of the map you can notice question marks. Each one of them symbolizes a location that you can discover. Simply reach that place and receive 25 XP.
3) Complete locations
In order to complete a location, you have to finish all of its activities. They depend on a type of a location which means that you may have to, e.g. find all treasure chests, kill an enemy captain, hunt a unique animal or find a papyrus. Try to complete all locations that you come across and the only ones that should be left for later are those that require a high-level character (e.g. to defeat strong bandits that guard a chest). Usually, completing a single location gives you about a few hundreds of XP.
4) Destroy pharaoh's statues
Pharaoh's statues are unique objects that can be found in selected provinces. Destroy them to get XP, you can do that by using your melee weapon. This short action (150XP at the beginning of the game - scaled up later according to your level) allows you to get a rather good amount of XP.
5) Synchronizations on vantage points
Reaching all vantage points and performing synchronizations after visiting a new part of the map is a good idea. Each action gives you some XP (100 XP at the beginning of the game - scaled up later according to your level).
6) Complete community quests
Community quests are divided into two groups. The first contains time-limited quests that you can collect from a quest giver marked by a blue icon on the map. An example of a quest is presented in the picture. Each one of them offers you XP and an additional valuable reward. However, you must complete them before they expire.
Quests from the second group are about avenging other players' deaths. You can find their corpses during exploration of the world (an example is presented in the picture). Examine them. After that you receive a quest in which you must avenge that player by eliminating a person that killed them. Completing these quests can give you a lot of XP.
7) (Stealth) kill enemies
Sadly, a default elimination of enemies won't give you a lot of XP (bosses are the only exception). However, you can change that a little bit. The plan is to kill enemies quietly / by surprising them. But if you want to get a bonus to XP, you will have to get the following abilities:
- Assassination XP - Use an assassination to get a bonus XP (e.g. when you are behind enemy's back or by jumping on them from a roof).
- Stealth Kill Streak - You get bonus XP by performing a series of assassinations while you are undetected.
- Headshot XP - You get bonus XP for killing enemies with a headshot from your bow. Use predator bow, draw an arrow to maximum and before you shoot, you must be sure that this shot will kill the enemy instantly (tougher enemies can survive this attack).
- Tool Kit XP - You get bonus XP for killing an enemy with one of your tools. For stealth, the best tools are Poisoned Darts and Flesh Decay.
Warning - Assassination bonuses are active from the beginning of the game, even when Bayek doesn't have his hidden blade and only neutralizes enemies by using surprise attacks.
Warning - You won't get any of the bonuses by killing animals but this doesn't mean that you should ignore them. By killing animals, you can get hides and other crafting materials that can be used in upgrading Bayek's gear. Note that the game will award more XP for killing a predator, such as a lion or a crocodile.
8) Solving the papyrus riddles
Some locations - marked with question marks on the world map - will contain papyruses. Each of them has a riddle written down on it, which will lead you to a treasure. The prize will not only be a valuable artifact (usually very rare, or legendary weapon), but also a substantial amount of XP (300XP at the beginning of the game - scaled up later according to your level). The solutions to each of these riddles can be found in another chapter.
9) Random events in the game
When you're traveling around the world of AC:O, you may encounter many random events, such as an attack of a predator on villagers (an exclamation mark with a short description will appear on the map - example above). You can help people in this situations and gain experience (around 100XP or more).
Other ways of getting ability points
Important note - Reaching new levels isn't the only way of getting ability points. You can also get them by:
- Finding Hermit locations - an example in the picture 1.
- Examining tablets in Tombs - an example in the picture 2.
Information about Hermit locations and Tombs can be found in our world atlas.
