Below you can find the most important information about the available updates for Assassin's Creed: Origins as well as those that are yet to be released.
Patch 1.03
This is the first big patch (1.1-1.8 GB depending on a platform) that was released after Assassin's Creed: Origins world premiere. It was released in November 3rd, 2017 on all platforms. The most important changes and improvements:
- Better performance (especially on PC). Performance boost can increase fps even by 10 frames.
- The most serious bugs are removed, the game and some of its elements have now better stability (e.g. reactions and AI of NPCs, chariot controls).
- Graphics improvement, e.g. better blur while riding a horse, more details in some of the locations and better lightning.
- Improvements and additional features in Photo Mode. You can now, e.g. change focus and saturation.
- Improved UI.
- Added support for HDR on consoles (only for those models that can use HDR).
- 4K resolution support for Xbox One X.
Patch 1.04
This patch is much smaller than the previous one - it takes about 150-180 MB. The console version was released in November 6th, 2017. Warning - the PC version of the Patch 1.0.4 was delayed due to problems that were discovered during the tests done by Ubisoft. Currently, the newest version for PC is 1.0.3.
This patch introduces more performance and stability improvements. It also solves a problem with one of the quests.
Free content after the release
Below you can find a list of the most important free content and improvements for Assassin's Creed: Origins.
- Photo Mode and Nomad's Bazaar with additional quests - These modes are already available.
- Trials of the Gods - They are unique fights with difficult enemies, the titular gods. The first challenge, featuring Anubis, was released in November 7th, 2017.
- Discovery Tour - You can explore the map freely without doing any missions or facing enemies. Virtual travels also feature commentaries about the Ancient Egypt. This mode will be available in 2018.
- Horde Mode - Fight on an arena with countless waves of enemies. This mode will be available in 2018.
Paid content after the release
All paid elements of Assassin's Creed: Origins are part of the season pass. Its most important elements are:
- Roman Centurion Pack - New unique gear elements for Bayek (outfit, weapons etc.)
- Horus Pack - New unique gear elements for Bayek (outfit, weapons etc.)
- The Hidden Ones - One of the story DLCs. It should be released in January 2018.
- The Curse of Pharaohs - One of the story DLCs. It should be released in March 2018.
Note - Story DLCs offer a chance to visit completely new areas in the world, e.g. Thebes. Besides that, these story DLCs increase level cap and unlock completely new abilities.
