Shallow Twisty Bridges and Twisty Bridges are very similar - you visit these biomes in Subnautica: Below Zero. You can recognize them by rocks that resemble tentacles. Below you can find descriptions of both biomes.

Shallow Twisty Bridges

Shallow Twisty Bridges is the first biome you will explore in Subnautica: Below Zero. This and the Sparse Arctic are the shallowest biomes. The maximum depth of Shallow Twisty Bridges is about 50 meters which means that you can explore it even without an oxygen tank. This biome is near Twisty Bridges and Arctic Kelp Forest.

Here, you will find the base dropped by Alterra. This is also the default drop zone of supply chests. The only resources here are Limestone Outcrop and Quartz. This biome is free of any danger.

Twisty Bridges

The deeper version of the biome described above. Its maximum depth is about 250-300 meters. This means that you will have to look for Oxygen Plants. Otherwise, you won't be able to explore this place efficiently.

You can replenish oxygen by using a Pipe connected to a Base Pump. You can also unlock the command menu and spawn e.g. a Seamoth. This vehicle will help you explore the areas.

Twisty Bridges consists mostly of narrow gorges divided by structures resembling tentacles. They will impair your movement if you get too close, and it is very easy to stumble upon them when trying to resurface quickly. Here, you will find almost all resource depots - Limestone Outcrop, Silver Outcrop, and Gold Outcrop. Besides these resources, you will also find Table Coral and Crystalline Sulfur. This biome has a cave leading to the Sanctuary Zero.

A Brute Shark.

The only danger in Twisted Bridges is a Brute Shark. These large fish patrol the entire biome. Brute Shark is hostile towards you. However, if you deal damage to it, the fish will leave you for a moment.
