Subnautica Below Zero: Base - how to power?
Last update:
In Subnautica: Below Zero, similarly to the base game, your bases need power to function. If the energy runs out, the base stops to be functional, while all installed tools will become inactive. At the same time, the base stops producing oxygen, making you unable to refill your tanks at the location. The table below is dedicated to energy sources available in the game.
Icon | Name | Needed resources | The source of the supplied energy | Additional notes |
Solar Panel | Titanium x2, Quartz x2, Copper Ore | Light | The depth is the main factor affecting the effectiveness of this energy source. At 100 meters depth, light is no longer a viable energy source.
Bioreactor | Titanium x3, Wiring Kit , Lubricant | Organic elements of the environment e.g. plants | Easily accessible energy. Nevertheless, be careful - some plants generate less energy.
Thermal Plant | Titanium x5, Magnatite x2, Aerogel | High Temperatures | An object which is placed outside of the base. As a result, requires a connection through energy connectors. This form of energy is effective only next to thermal springs.
Nuclear Reactor | Plasteel Ingot , Advanced Wiring Kit , Lead x3 | Fuel rods | The most effective way of getting energy. Allows you to generate a huge amount of energy. Currently, the fuel rods blueprint cannot be acquired without cheats. |
