Locating Luiza's house
You will learn that you need to get to Luiza's house and investigate it by finding the drawing at the Church. The purpose of the visit is to find the missing second crest needed to solve the gate puzzle.
Look around the church and you will find a passage leading to the neighbouring Fallow Plot. Beware the lycans prowling the field. You can try to avoid them and sneak inside the tall grass (it's a good idea to listen for the monsters), or you can let them spot you to initiate a fight against them. The latter method will make it easier for you to search the field and ransack the surrounding huts.
Your goal is to reach the front gate of Luiza's house. Your attempt to open it will fail, but the main character will encounter Elena and her seriously injured father. You will have the chance to help them and Elena will return the favor a few moments later by introducing Luiza to the main character.
Finding shelter in Luiza's house
Stay in the hut where Elena and Leonardo are hiding and go through the window to get to the backyard.
Go through the damaged section of the wall and reach the locked gate on the other side to unlock it for Elena and her father.
Trying to open the front door of the building will trigger an encounter with Luiza and the other people hiding in her home. In the first room you will find a typewriter and you should make use of it.
You may optionally look around and examine a photo album, among other things. Upon entering the guest room, several cutscenes will play.
Escaping the burning house
Once the final cutscene ends, you have to attack the approaching mutated Leonard, but it's Elena who will take the final shot that will stop her father's attack.
The new quest objective is to get out of the garage of the burning building. Survey your entire surroundings. In the drawer pictured in the above image, you will find a Truck Key.
Do not close the preview of this key, as the newly acquired item requires thorough examination (use the Examine option). Rotate the key's 3D model until the clasp is visible. Pressing the interaction button will get you the Screwdriver.
You may now return to your vehicle. Stand in the spot where the passenger door should be. Ethan will start the pick-up truck and attempt to get out of the building. You must press the R2 button/right trigger several times to step on the gas.
The final part of the escape involves a short climb to the first floor of the burning house. An important cut-scene involving Elena will play during this moment.
Finding the second crest
Reach the window to get out of the burning building and jump onto the outside balcony. Jump down to the very bottom and head to the altar pictured above. Ethan can use the previously-acquired screwdriver to open it. Inside you will find the Demon Crest.
Placing the crests and solving the riddle
You can now return to the gate containing two crest slots, which, as a reminder, is located in the Graveyard showcased in the pictures above.
There are two circular slots in the gate where you need to place the 2 crests you found.
The solution to the puzzle is simple:
1) Place the Maiden Crest in the left slot and start rotating it to match the rest of the design. Press the interaction button to merge it with the rest of the gate.
2) Place the Demon Crest in the top slot and start rotating it to match the rest of the design. Press the interaction button to merge it with the rest of the gate.
By completing the puzzle, a passage will open up and you will be able to use the path leading towards the castle. Before you embark on your journey, it's a good idea to return to the church for a moment and save your game.
