This page of the Resident Evil Village guide presents a map of golden chests, i.e. locations with extremely valuable treasures. In addition, you can learn how to reach the golden chests icons and get valuable loot.

Golden Chest 1 (Beneviento's Treasure)

You will reach the golden chest icon for the first time when you travel to House Beneviento. It is a gravestone with an incomplete slab. At first, you can't do anything here because Ethan doesn't have the required key item yet.

The earliest you can complete this location is after returning from House Beneviento, which is after defeating the boss Donna Beneviento. Reach the Graveyard in the village.

Have a look at the newly opened vault from the images above. After dealing with the new monsters, you can explore the location - you will find a Broken Slab.

Once you acquire the new key item, return to the tombstone marked with the golden chest icon. Note - an ogre, which is one of the game's mini-bosses, may appear here. It is recommended to defeat him, otherwise he will persistently prevent you from reaching the treasure. A magnum revolver and aiming for headshots will work best, although if you don't want to waste revolver ammunition, you can use, for example, mines and pipe bombs.

Interact with the slab on the tombstone and use the Broken Slab on it. The entire slab will move and you will find the Berengario's Chalice treasure, which can be sold to the Duke.

Golden Chest 2 (Riverbank Treasure House)

This icon is very misleading. It actually indicates a location under the castle, not inside Dimitrescu Castle. As a result, you do not have to look for a way to get inside the castle again.

The earliest you can reach this golden chest is once you've defeated the Moreau boss. Ethan will need the Crank found in the wetlands. Once you've obtained the crank, reach the Drawbridge as shown in the images, located west of the Altar location. You can use the crank to lower the drawbridge.

Lowering the bridge will grant you access to a boat, which you can start using to travel across the local river. Take the boat north. Once the boat is moored, head east toward the entrance marked in the image above.

Once you enter the tomb, you will notice two side rooms that are inaccessible. You can unlock access to these rooms by firing at the burning brazier and pushing it towards the other inactive ones to light them up as well.

A single enemy will appear in one of the side rooms - don't kill him, just let him get close to one of the braziers and get set on fire.

Now run quickly to the other room of the dungeon. Position yourself in the spot shown in the picture and wait for the burning enemy to appear here. It should set the local brazier on fire after you get close enough to it. Only now kill the monster.

You can turn around already and pick up the treasure: Golden Lady Statue. Sell it to the Duke as soon as you have the possibility to do so.

Golden chest 3 (Waterwheel Weapon)

You can reach the golden chest icon for the first time when you travel to Moreau's location . Ethan must use the Four-Winged Unborn Key to open the gate in Altar.

As you make your way through the village, you must watch out for the wolf - you can kill it, escape it, or sneak up on it. Your destination is the hut shown in the picture. To open it, you need the Iron Insignia Key, which Ethan obtained much earlier.

The most valuable treasure to be found in the place marked with the golden chest icon is the GM 79 grenade launcher - this is one of the best and most useful weapons in the game.

Golden Chest 4 (Maestro's Collection)

You can reach the golden chest icon for the first time after defeating Donna Beneviento. On the way back from House Beneviento, you will again go through the Garden, but this time, you'll have the possibility to check out the house on the hill shown in the pictures.

You will find Luthier's Key inside the hut.

Once you've acquired the key, you can now head out to the golden chest icon in the village - it's inside one of the larger locked buildings.

You will find a padlocked closet inside the hut. The hint for the lock combination is on the drawing hanging on the wall - it is 270917.

Inside the closet, you'll find a Steel Hraesvelgr treasure (sell it to the Duke) and a suitcase with a F2 Rifle High-Capacity Mag weapon upgrade (it fits the sniper).

Golden chest 5 (Cannibal's Plunder)

You can reach the golden chest icon for the first time once you obtain the Six-Winged Unborn Key after defeating the Moreau boss in the swamps. There is a gate in the village where you can use this key.

On your way to Stronghold you will come across a crossroads shown in the picture. Take the left path, which is the one that does not lead to the fortress. This will get you to Otto's Mill.

The entrance to the mill is at the back of the building. On your way there, you must destroy the padlock on the gate - use a knife or a gun.

There's an ogre inside the mill - a mini-boss. Fighting him is not mandatory, but ignoring to kill him will make it much harder to reach the place marked with the golden chest icon. As a reminder, magnums, mines, and pipe bombs are helpful in attacking the ogre. The ogre can unfortunately summon flying monsters as reinforcements.

The most important step is to open the door shown in the picture, on which there are 3 padlocks. If you haven't killed the ogre, then just fire several quick shots at the padlocks.

Ultimately, you must reach the very end of the mill. Inside, there's a small altar as shown in the picture, which contains a treasure, Father Nichola's Angel. You can sell the figurine to the Duke.

Golden chest 6 (Luiza's Heirloom)

You can reach the golden chest icon for the first time after returning from the castle to the village. It is necessary to get through to Luiza's House once again. It involves crossing a field that is now guarded by flying monsters instead of Lycans - you can attack them or try to run across the field.

Ultimately, you must reach the ruins of Luiza's house. On the stairs, in front of the burned house, you will find a chest and a key item inside it - Luiza's Necklace.

You can view the necklace in your inventory and get Louisa's Key with it. The location where the key is used is descirbed on the page Luiza's Necklace Riddle.

Golden chest 7 (Treasure Under the Stronghold)

You can reach the golden chest icon for the first time after defeating the hammer boss in Stronghold. On his way back to the village, Ethan will pass through the dungeons located under the fortress.

The spot you're looking for is impossible to miss - it's a small altar with the Guglielmo's Plate treasure (to be sold to the Duke).

Golden chest 8 (Moreau's Hidden Weapon)

You can reach the golden chest icon for the first time after defeating the Moreau boss in the swamps, specifically on the way back from the swamps to the village.

Approach the Mechanical Door shown in the image. You can use the Crank you acquired earlier on to open it.

Go through the gate. You'll see a path leading to an optional mountain area with several huts. You have to watch out for regular and flying opponents here.

Your destination is the hut marked with the golden chest icon. You can get inside through a small opening at the back of the hut.

You must get rid of a single monster inside the hut. You will find a suitcase with the M1851 Wolfsbane magnum revolver. This is the strongest weapon in the game, which you should save for major boss fights.
