Finest Fish - how to get the ingredient?
Finest Fish is a unique ingredient that you must provide to the trader Duke if you want him to cook the dish Sarmale de Peste. It's one of the 6 unique dishes to cook in the game, and by preparing it, you will be able to permanently increase the hero's movement speed. This can be helpful during exploration and combat.
Side note: Ethan may come into possession of the Photo of a Phantom Fish, which is in a small dungeon that can be explored on the way back from the Stronghold. The photo is a hint as to the location of the rare fish, although getting finding it is not mandatory. You may head right out to the place described below.
This dish has two ingredients, but only Finest Fish is the problematic one. You won't be able to go in search of the rare fish until after you have defeated the boss Moreau. This is because Ethan needs the crank, which can be obtained in the Reservoir.
Reach the Drawbridge shown in the pictures - it is located west of the Altar (the one where Duke is). You can use the crank to lower the drawbridge.
By lowering the bridge, you will reach the boat. Get on it and sail it south.
The boat must eventually reach the pond shown in the pictures above, where some fish are swimming.
You have to kill the goldfish - you can use for example a gun or a knife for this. The gold fish will drop the Finest Fish ingredient, which you can deliver to Duke at the earliest opportunity.
Fishing spots map - finding other fishes
"Common" fishes can also be found and killed by visiting the fishing spots marked on the map above. This will allow you to meet the requirements of providing fish ingredients.
- Location 1 - You can find the fishery while crossing the cave just after leaving Dimitrescu Castle.
- Location 2 - The fishery is by the raised drawbridge.
- Location 3 - The fishery can be reached by boat from the drawbridge side.
- Location 4 - You can reach the fishery using a boat.
- Location 5 - You can explore the fishery only after opening the floodgate when the water level in the reservoir is lowered (after the fight with Moreau).
