Only You in Whitetail Mountains Far Cry 5 Guide and Walkthrough
The first Whitetail Mountains liberating mission in Far Cry 5.
Last update: 09 April 2018
Only You is the first out of the two Far Cry 5 missions that will allow you to liberate Whitetail Mountains region. This mission starts automatically after collecting 10,000 resistance points in Whitetail Mountains. You can't start any new quests or activities while you are doing any of the missions that will allow you to eliminate Jacob Seed. Below you can find walkthrough for the first mission in which you can defeat Jacob. Your objective is to get out of the trap and then kill Jacob (a boss fight).
Escape from Jacobs trap
You don't have to reach any particular location to start this mission. Collect 10,000 resistance points in Whitetail Mountains and wait for your character to lose consciousness. After that you will see a cut-scene. You are trapped in the place known from previous kidnappings.
Note - You can't use specialists nor visit any shops during any of the two quests that will help you eliminate Jacob. The second problem isn't an issue because you will be able to find weapons in the locations connected to those quests.
The beginning is very similar to We Must Be Strong and Sacrifice the Weak quests. You have to go through the "training facility" before time runs out. You can get a little bit of time back by killing enemies. However, you have to know that the limit in this quest is rather challenging. Don't waste your time on searching for enemies and switch weapons only when you have a good chance for that.
As always, you have to go through all rooms. Climb to the very top in the last one, jump on the opposite ledge and slide down. Keep eliminating the enemies. You have to reach the last enemy and kill him. That person is Eli - you can't save him from death.
Destroy beacons
You now have to free yourself from Jacob's control. This means that you have to destroy beacons (6 in total). You can reach them in any order. Destroy their generators to shut the beacons down (remember to do that from a safe distance!).
The process of destroying the beacons will be interrupted by cultists. They are easy to kill but some of them are snipers (you can recognize them by laser sights). Defeat them first or run from one cover to another. You should also look for supply crates. Use them when you run out of ammo or med kits.
Kill Jacob Seed
Soon, you will get a new objective which is a boss fight. Jacob Seed can be found on top of one of the mountains - go there to have a final confrontation.
Check out the nearby supplies before you start climbing. You can get ammo and one of the main weapons. The best weapons for this fight are assault rifles and machine guns. Also, you can shoot at Jacob sooner if you have a sniper rifle.
The key to win this fight is to avoid Jacob's shots and to keep climbing. Sprint a lot and use slides to quickly reach new covers. The bigger rocks are a great place for cover. Don't try to hide behind the smaller ones or behind trees because they don't offer as much protection.
Watch out for Jacob, cultists and wolves. The cultists are easy to kill but only for now. You will encounter at least two heavily armored enemies near the end of your climb. Use a rocket launcher, a grenade launcher or dynamites to take them out.
Wolves are a little bit more problematic because they can easily take you by surprise while you are hiding behind a cover. Quickly shoot them so they won't get a chance to bite you. Luckily for you, wolves die fast.
If you have a sniper rifle, you can start shooting at Jacob when you are rather close to the mountain's top. Otherwise, you will have to keep climbing. Go around the top from the left and use the Grappling Hook to reach the stone ledges located above. You can come across a cougar. This animal is more dangerous than wolves so don't ignore it.
Get closer to Jacob so he gets in the range of your weapons. Try to aim at his head to kill him faster (he doesn't have a separate health bar but he is still much tougher than the regular cultists).
Casualties of War story quest starts right after Jacob's death.
Rewards for completing this mission: Jacob's Rifle, $3,000.
