How to obtain perk points in Far Cry 5? Far Cry 5 Guide and Walkthrough

Perk points are skill points in Far Cry 5. It is required to gather them, to unlock new skills (they are called perks, in the game). Below, we have provided main methods to obtain perk points. It is best to employ them all, for the best results.
Note - In Far Cry 5, you do not obtain experience points. Instead, for helping others and completing missions, you receive resistance points, and they are required to weaken the activities of the cult in specific regions and their only purpose is to unlock new storyline missions and bring you closer to confronting Seed family members.
Perk points obtained from challenges
Completing challenges is the best way of obtaining perk points. Many of the challenges are not too difficult, thanks to which they can be complete easily. Depending on the difficulty and complexity level of the challenge, you can receive between 1 and 3 points, upon completion. You can look up the list of challenges in one of the tabs in the character menu (the above screenshot). First, take interest in:
Challenges that require you to use various weapons - all of them are very easy. You have to kill several tens of enemies with a specific weapon (e.g. the shotgun). After you obtain the weapon (it is best to take them from the enemies you kill), attack any cultists (e.g. those in outposts and ones that you randomly encounter).
Challenges that require you to use various throwables - in this case, the only difficulty is that you can only carry a limited number of, e.g. grenades, sticks of dynamite, Try to use them on a regular basis and attack larger groups of opponents this way. You can find throwables in many outposts and camps. Also, you can craft them
Hunting challenges - there is one challenge for each species of wild animals, and usually you are required to score between one and several kills. First, complete challenges connected with common animals, e.g. skunks, salmons, turkeys, bears, wolves and cougars.
Headshot, silent takedown and car kills - all of these challenges are very easy. You only have to perform the required actions often enough, because for each of the challenges, there are several tens of kills to score.
Challenge to rescue 3 civilians - you can complete one of such challenges after 1-2 random encounters, where you save the innocent imprisoned, or being transported by Peggies. This is an easy way to obtain 2 perk points.
Challenges from specialists - each of the 9 specialists has a separate challenge and they make the companion kill a specific number of enemies. Try to monitor kills on a regular basis and, after you have completed the challenge, switch to another specialist who has not yet attained the required number.
Magazines about perks
While exploring the game world, you can find magazines. Collecting each rewards you with 1 permanent perk point. One of such magazines has been shown in the above screenshot. Keep an eye out for them, especially in prepper packs, i.e. crates, or secret areas that you reach while completing treasure hunting mission. These missions have been marked on the map with a green crystal icon.

Other ways of obtaining perk points
There also are some other ways of obtaining perk points, but they are not as fast and not as effective as the above. You can obtain additional points by:
- Completing specific missions. They make an additional reward then, apart from resistance points and cash.
- Playing the Far Cry Arcade mode.
