Rellana, Twin Moon Knight is one of the bosses in the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. You will face her at the end of Castle Ensis, in the Gravesite Plain region, where the expansion begins. For defeating the boss, you will receive 240,000 runes and Remembrance of the Twin Moon Knight.

Rellana, Knight of the Twin Moons in a nutshell

1. Rellana is a very aggressive boss who attacks you almost constantly.
2. Most of Rellana's combinations end with a slash with both swords - then you are safe and can heal yourself or counterattack.
3. It is quite easy to stun Rellana, allowing you to land a critical hit and drink a healing potion.
4. Rellana's magical daggers will fly towards you immediately when she summons them in front of her and with a slight delay when she summons them above her.
5. If you are close and Rellana shoots magic daggers in front of her, the boss will immediately jump towards you and do a single attack - after this she is temporarily vulnerable to attacks.
6. To avoid an attack with a huge magical sword, you must dodge, wait for a very brief moment and dodge again.
7. Some of Rellana's attacks can be avoided by very precisely circling the boss, standing very close to her.
8. In the second phase of the fight, Rellana infuses her swords with magic and fire - you then have a moment to heal yourself or deal damage to her.
9. When blocking or avoiding the last attack from combo in the second phase, try to move to Rellana's side to avoid the explosions left by her slashes.
10. If Rellana points her sword at you, she is going to perform one of two special attacks - a series of five shock waves with a magical sword (dodge to the sides) or a fire tornado around herself (run away, avoiding the pillars of fire appearing on the ground).
11. At the end of the fight, Rellana will use an extremely powerful attack - avoid the falling moons by jumping twice, and then dodge the falling Rellana.

How to fight Rellana?

Rellana is a humanoid opponent wielding two swords. She is very aggressive and fast - her attacks do not deal much damage, but the combinations of attacks are long and the boss attacks you almost all the time, both in melee (swords) and from a distance (magic daggers and shockwaves). You will have very little time to breathe and heal.

Most of Rellana's combos end with both swords hitting at once. Attack with both swords (a slash or a thrust) usually means you have a moment to counterattack or heal (the exception is a diagonal slash immediately followed by a second, identical slash). You are also safe a moment after a single dashing slash, which Rellana performs when she is slightly away from you or after summoning magic daggers.

Some of Rellana's combinations can be avoided by circling her from side to side while standing very close to her - especially a combo ending with a dual thrust. Occasionally, the boss's swords may damage you despite blocking - this is irregular and cannot be predicted (it may be a bug caused by the length of the boss's swords).

Rellana's ranged attacks are a single magical shockwave or magical daggers. If they appear above Rellana, she will shoot them with a delay - if they appear in front of her, she will shoot them immediately. One of Rellana's most dangerous attacks are two slashes with a huge magical sword, first vertically, then horizontally. The attack has a huge range, so you can't escape from it. You also can't effectively block it with a shield because it deals magic damage. You must dodge at the right moment to avoid the vertical slash, wait a for a brief moment after the dodge animation ends, and dodge again to avoid the horizontal slash.

Although you can't interrupt Rellana's attacks with your own, you can stun her quite easily, allowing you to land a critical hit and drink a healing potion. The easiest way to stun the boss is with block counterattacks, heavy attacks, and heavy jump attacks.

When Rellana loses half of her health, the second phase will begin. The boss will cover her swords with magic and fire - be careful, because this animation can hurt you. After it ends, you have a moment to attack the boss. Rellana's melee attacks now deal partial magic and fire damage, so you can't fully block them - keep an eye on your health level.

In the second phase, Rellana retains her moveset from the first phase, but can now end certain combos with a magical shockwave or delayed fire explosion. By blocking or avoiding the last attack in the combo, try to get to the side of the boss - this way you will avoid damage from the explosion. The opponent also gains two special attacks, which she will use when she points her sword at you. She can fire five shock waves at you (dodge sideways, alternating left and right) or create a fire tornado around herself (move away from the boss, avoiding the pillars of fire that appear in the arena).

At the end of the fight, Rellana will float in the air and summon two moons. She will throw them at the ground, creating a shockwave covering the entire arena, and then hit the floor herself. Avoid the attack by jumping twice to avoid the exploding moons, then dodge to avoid Rellana.
